Hi guys. Here is Part 2 of my 2015 unbeaten unsigned prospects - the Women's Divisions (135lb, 125lb & 115lb)!

Previous 2015 versions are below
Part One: The Lightweights: http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f6...s-unbeaten-unsigned-prospects-2015-a-2898125/

A quick reminder of the rules as always:

1) They must be undefeated!
2) They must NOT be signed to any of the three largest promotions (UFC, Bellator & WSOF)
3) They must have fought at least once in 2014
4) They must have had at least 3 professional fights

This is my first year doing the women's divisions. It was probably the hardest to do (along with Hw's & LHW's) due to the lack of depth in the divisions. To be fair though most of the women on the list are 23 & under so have plenty of time to develop. I also have lots of women on my lists which are 1-0 & 2-0, so hopefully next year's list will be bigger & better.

Girls ineligible due to inactivity included Manjit Kolekar (6-0), Alejandro Lara (4-0) & Daizy Singh (3-0).

I'd be interested to hear everyone's feedback and opinions as to who you think is ranked too high or too low etc. Also if anyone can suggest girls that I missed out or any ages of the fighters which I couldn't find it would be appreciated.

Enjoy Part 2!

*Just a quick little note that due to the lack f women in the 135lb weight class i kind of cheated on the #4 ranked Lisa McCallum – she is a featherweight that has even fought heavier than this before. However if her MMA career got serious she could easily make 135 pounds which is why she was included.

KK number 2? She just beat Inoue, think she def is the top unbeaten, unsigned 115er.

Oh yea theres no doubt KK is the highest ranked at the moment. However Souza is a Brazilian National judo champion, a bjj black belt, just 23 years old and has beaten some solid fighters already whilst making it look easy. I just felt that long term Souza has the potential to have the biggest future.

I was expecting to see more girls with Invicta when you said they just couldn't be a part of UFC, Bellator, or WSOF. Surprized to see only 4 of the 33 are with Invicta.

Yea i was a bit suprised too lol. Correct me if i'm wrong anyone but as far as i'm aware there is only 4 undefeated fighters in Invicta with 3 or more wins?

Sucuri, Perjes and Costigan could make the list

I'll make a number of comments. Some might be useful. Others are aimed at providing some context that might allow for differing in wording.

Lisa McCallam - isn't a bantamweight. Her last fight was upwards of 185lbs.

Roberta Paim Rovel - hasn't actually fought at bantamweight yet. Her last few fights have been at 145lbs with her earlier fights upwards of 155lbs. She has talked about fighting at 135lbs, however. Her first mma fight might have been upwards of 170lbs. (I ought to double-check.)

Claudia Rey - She 3/2 with her fights with flyweight/bantamweight. Most aiming at bantamweight at the moment but her fight have been going belly up a fair amount recently.

Taila Santos - She has one fight at flyweight, the rest at bantamweight. She missed weight for her last fight so it was off the card, XFCi for their flyweight tournament.

Viviane Pereira - I'm under the impression she has been recently signed by the UFC. She mostly fought at 125 and 134 pounds. Her last fight was at 115lbs but Tapology lists that at 126lbs.

Livia Renata Souza - Has also mostly fought at flyweight, and low end of bantamweight, but she has fought twice, in a row now, at strawweight if my memory serves. At least her last fight was fought at 115lbs.

To add a few other comments: Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Alexa Grasso also have only two fights at strawweight apeice. They'd previously been fighting at flyweight.

Marina Moroz - She has one fight at strawweight, her last fight, the rest are at flyweight.

Ericka Almeida - She has one fight at strawweight, her last fight, the rest are at flyweight.

Catherine Costigan - She is an atomweight.

Dora Perjes - She has tended to fight at atomweight but she does have about three fights at strawweight, including her last fight.

Janaisa Morandin - Her last fight was at atomweight.

Virna Jandiroba - She has one fight at strawweight, her last one, the rest at flyweight.

Marilia Santos - She has one fight at strawweight, her last one, the rest at flyweight and bantamweight.

I guess the upshot of my comments is that many of these fighters tend to fight at other weight classes but the UFC's bringing in a strawweight division has caused many fighters to look at that weight class as where they might be able to get into the big show.

And some of these fighters are being listed at the wrong weight class.

Altogether a decent list though. I might make another comment or two.

Best prospect not on there IMO is Virna Jandiroba (3-0)

She's a black belt in BJJ who won the CBJJE Mundials in 2013 beating Claudia Gadelha and subbing the IBJJF #31 ranked female black belt Renata Pimental

one of her fights^

her most recent fight she submitted Camila Alves, who is much more experienced and has wins over Herica Tiburcio, Aline Sattelmayer etc.

Cheers for the comments everyone, especially the long post by Thirdpres (might drop you a pm before releasing the women's list next year ;D). Women's was definately the division/s that i knew least about by a longgg way!

Due to only finding about 5 bantamweights, i did cheat a little and add a couple of 145'ers, so that division is more of a 135+ division ;)

Haha. I was wondering if that happened to be the case. Feel free to drop a PM. I'll try and help.

There are some solid fighters at bantamweight with 4+ fights but almost all of them have one loss. If I remember one or two I'll point them out. One fighter, from Columbia, had one of her fights fall apart this year. She is 4-0 and probably would have won that fight that fell thru, so she doesn't qualify either. This same fighter has been considering fighting at flyweight however.

Here is a very none-standard bantamweight fighter to keep an eye on, from South Korea. She has three fights and no defeats.

Ji Yeon Kim (1-0-2) KR 8/14

Her draws are against Takayo Hashi (15-5-1) JP 11/14 and Shizuka Sugiyama (13-4-1) JP 12/14.

Being hard up for bantamweights Kim might fit in there. Weird with her being 1-0-2 but those draws are against very tough opponents in her first two fights. If those fights had taken place in different venues Kim might have walked away the winner.

Good thread.

BTW, arounf the 12.30 mark in this fight, a 'bug' can clearly be seen walking across the floor of the cage, gets a sneaky clos up of the fight too

Anyone heard anything about Kianzad vs Niedzwiedz?

Yeah, that fight are definitely higher level than a lot of WBW UFC fights as well.
