I talked to Angela Vogel on the Take It Uneasy podcast about what it's like to be married to a black belt (Josh Vogel, competitor and instructor at Balance):
Episode 10: Angela Vogel on Women in Jiu Jitsu, Pastry Grips, and Game of Thrones
She just started like a year ago and is really, no bullshit, kicking ass in the gym already (now as a blue belt). I like her take on training as a woman, that you need to approach the whole thing with a lot of confidence, and not allowing yourself to use the excuse of being a girl, or small, or whatever. Just ignore gender, ignore rank, and go for your technique. Anyway, hope you enjoy.
Do you think the first year of jiu jitsu is different for a girl than a guy?
