With a win over Rumble does Gus really deserve a rematch w/ the P4P best?

Let see he absolutely dominated jones and sent him to hospital only to suffer a robbery so bad that both Diego Sanchez and Leonard Garcia both said damn that was a robbery

So yes he deserves the fight. The real question is whether jones deserves another shot at the true champ.

This is just as idiotic as TS

your analysis is Garbage, Phil Davis is a legit win for Rumble, and Gus is the #1 contender, the fact that you brought up Rashad, who lost to lil nog, and Rampage who barely beat King Mo, as your top contenders is just ridiculous.

Seriously? He beat jones the first time they fought, he should have be given an immediate rematch like hendricks, silva, bj penn, etc all were given.

this

He was going to get a rematch with a win over Manuwa, who is basically the store-brand Rumble.

At this point who deserves to face Jones more than the guy who's done better than anyone else against him?

oh the last card possible of jj fans

questioning his titleshot legitimacy

wtf, how the fuck this guy is on the viking bandwagon? edit your sign now

beat me to it

Yes.

You have to factor how close the first fight was and Rumble is on a tear. He would be very deserving.

If you don't think that was fight I think you might actual be the right intelligence level of the heavies.

Gus has had the legitimacy of his resume exaggerated for quite sometime now, in his most recent fight he beat a fringe top 10 guy in Manuwa (big deal). He hasn't exactly been looking to stay busy either, I think his camp is bidding it's time working on defending spinning shit prior to a Jones rematch. Let's be honest, who has he beat? a washed up Shogun, Te Huna who dropped to middle weight, a Janitor who couldn't cut it in Bellator, a guy who has handicap license plates, and a guy recently cut by the UFC. In his claim to fame event he decisively lost to Jones in a fight that only Jones haters called close.

Even if he beats Rumble, AJ is a blown up welterweight, who hasn't beaten anyone of note lately either... He's been crushing cans in the WSOF, decisioned a gunshy Arlovsky, wall and stalled Phil Davis to a controversial win, and landed a lucky uppercut on Little Nog who was suffering from jetlag, diarrhea, and staph.

The only fighters who clearly deserve a rematch with Jones are Rashad or Rampage, these guys are both coming off big wins and are fights that make sense......

Must be trolling...either that or retarded...

Who else would Jones fight if not the winner of Johnson/Gustafsson?

Wait...Rashad or Rampage? Lol. Rashad is semi-retired and Rampage hasn't gotten a legit win over a legit opponent since he beat Dan Henderson.

Rashad is fighting next month...

Da fuq?

There isn't anyone left at LHW, Jon is cleaning house. Right now, Rumble is probably the most deserving of a shot considering he is a new contender on win streak and Gus already fought Jon. But since Gus is fighting Rumble, if he wins, he definitely deserves a shot.

The answer is yes, simple as that. Winner of this match up makes perfect sense given the landscape at 205

i think mod should shut these kind of threads down. do we really need somewhat 20 threads about however Gus is worthy or not of a rematch since he "has not proven himself"?

Bunch of people got trolled way too easily.
