WI republicans have decided that if democracy means the Democrats win, they’ll erase democracy.

Republicans in the WI legislature are planning to, tomorrow:
1)Take the power from the Attornery General and Governor to decide whether to stay in the ACA lawsuit joined by the previous governor and AG
2) Move the WI presidential primary away from the date when an extreme far-right WI SC justice is up for re-election in order to try to suppress Dem turnout at a cost of at least 7 million $
3) take control of the state jobs board from the governor after Scott Walker had it for his entire term
4) cut early voting in a third (6 to 2 weeks) to try to suppress Dem votes
5) in general, restrict in any way possible the power of the duly elected statewide positions, which Winconsin voters gave ENTIRELY to the Democratic Party.
All this while the republican legislature received a minority of the votes and yet is retaining a strong majority in the legislature for next term due to horrendous gerrymandering.
Similar measures are being considered in Michigan, where voters also chose Democrats to run the government for them.
Republicans are literally attempting to undo the results of an election before our eyes.

Wisconsin Republicans moved quickly Monday to change the 2020 presidential primary date at a cost of millions of dollars to benefit a conservative state Supreme Court justice, part of a rare lame-duck session that would also weaken the newly elected Democratic governor and attorney general.
The changes being sought would shift power to the GOP-controlled Legislature and allow outgoing Republican Gov. Scott Walker to make one last major mark on the state’s political landscape after he lost re-election in November.
Fitzgerald said last week that Republicans want to move the 2020 presidential primary, when Democratic turnout is expected to be high, so it won’t be on the same date as an April election where Walker-appointed Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly is on the ballot, thereby improving his chances of victory.
The state Elections Commission unanimously adopted a motion Monday declaring that the shift would be “extraordinarily difficult” and costly without additional funding. Commissioner Mark Thomsen, a Democratic appointee, called the plan “the biggest waste of money for a single person that I can think of” during discussion preceding the vote.
Fitzgerald and other Republican leaders said that changes to that proposal, and others including limiting early voting to two weeks before an election, were being considered and could be offered during floor debate Tuesday.
Similar limitations on early voting were found unconstitutional by a federal judge in 2016 and Democrats have threatened legal action again.

Facing the prospect of sharing political power for the first time in almost a decade, Republicans in Wisconsin are racing to set new limits on the authority of Democrats who will soon take over the offices of governor and attorney general.
It was the latest effort by leaders of a state to try to shift authority in the face of an election loss, and it set off furious protests from Wisconsin Democrats, who said they would not stand for the moves and called on residents to raise loud objections.
Republicans called lawmakers to the state capital this week to weigh a sweeping plan that could diminish the power of Tony Evers, the Democrat who beat Gov. Scott Walker last month, by restricting his ability to shift how public benefits programs are run and limiting his authority to set rules for carrying out state laws.
The long list of proposals Republicans want to consider also includes wide efforts to shore up Republican strength before Mr. Evers is sworn in next month: new limits to early voting, a shift in the timing of the 2020 presidential primary in Wisconsin, and new authority for lawmakers on state litigation.
