We probably haven't even heard of the guy who is going to take over after Jones slows down.

Jones and jackson will know when the time is right to leave and it will be before any sort of decline.

Fedor is prob my all time fave fighter, but he should have had someone telling him to quit after the Rogers fight. That should have been the clue that its time to go cos there were any number of bigger, more skilled men out there so it stands to reason he was gonna lose soon

I dont see Jones going down that path

I don't know how you say anybody is favored to beat Jones at this point.
Cormeir was the logical best choice and he got beat up.
I hope Gus wins a close fight to set up a rematch with Jon. That way Jones will get a chance to end the Gus hype for good.
If he loses to Rumble it will prove that the highlight of his career will always be that almost won versus Jones.
Gus will go down as the goat of almost wons.

Undefeated except the loss to Matt Hamill...
(yes, habitually breaking the rules and getting disqualified is a loss no matter how hard Jon Jones nutt huggers try rationalizing it)

Why do people always think Jones is going to lose? He has been in trouble in many fights but the dude just never quits. He won't wilt under pressure and he won't tap to anything I'm convinced. Vitor almost ripped his arm off and he didn't even come close to tapping. His toe almost came off against Chael and he didn't quit, hell he didn't even feel it until after the fight. He was bloodied against Gus but still finished strong. He traded in there with Cormeir and Tex and never even got wobbled once. Jones beats Rumble rather easily, what is Rumble going to do to beat him? Gus can at least offer him a 5 round war again because he is the same size. Rumble only has a chance of a KO and Jones hasn't even been wobbled once in his career.

Rumble would have close to no shot, Gus it's real close. Would love to still see that rematch

Fool, no one said anything about Vitor, Chael, Glover, etc. No one REALLY thought those guys would beat Jones. Only guy I had beating Jones was DC.

I'm not picking a name out of a hat. I genuinely think either of these guys will beat Jones.

based on what? Jones is an intelligent fighter but suggesting he is somehow different to all the intelligent undefeated that came before him (and ultimately lost) is just blind nut huggery. Open you eyes and see the sack that blinds you my son.

The point he's making is, at some point people just need to accept that betting against Jones is starting to look like an exercise in denial, or stupidity. The guy is more of a fighter than a lot of people are willing to give him credit for, 'cause they want to play the ethics police.

Also, let's be frank. People had all those guys beating Jones. Until they didn't. Jones gets counted out far more than people are willing to admit. Even if it's just because people don't like him.

Hindsight is 20/20, its easy to say when you should have quit AFTER you start losing. Athletes very rarely know when to quit. Learn your history, Speeit is right. Undefeated fighters are unbelievably rare and when you find them they are the exception that proves the rule.

What denial though? I never said he's some bum that's waiting to be exposed. I genuinely think either guy can beat him.

I respect that. I believe you too. I'm talking about the type that just prays anyone will come along and beat Jones. All, while downplaying Jones as a fighter and octagon warrior.

Agreed and Jones is gonna be that exception.

Even though he won, Fedor should have used that Rogers and arguably the arlovsky fight as a gauge to know that his time was done.

Well, time will tell. I wouldn't put money on it though based on history.
