Anybody else getting a lot of Windows updates lately?

Just a couple days ago I got another update and niw today its god damn updating again. WTF are they doing
 
Same here.

I usually put them off for as long as possible as they almost always break my wifi.
It updated a few days ago, it broke the wifi, I fixed it (I have to roll back to an old driver) and then it did another update and broke my wifi again................

I assumed it was anti-virus updates on Windows Defender to try and stop Corvid 19 from damaging my PC but I haven't read the release notes for the updates so I may well be wrong.

The last one fucked up some PCs, especially laptops. My son's screen went blank and it beeps constantly. I'm glad they've finally fixed the bug. Meanwhile, my Macs keep on keeping on.
 
The other day, the program used to open mp4 suddenly changed by itself to "Movies & TV". I had to re-learn how to switch it back. I then noticed it had auto-repeat on as the default as I like it.

Not if Microsoft arbitrarily decides to discontinue supporting their potentially deadly lemon of an operating system that could wreak havoc on the entire civilized world. How they are allowed to escape responsiblity and accountability for their lemons, but car makers are forced to recall deadly airbags is puzzling. Which congressmens' dicks are they sucking?

It's Bill Gates with that coronavirus update!

Honestly though Windows updates always screws with my work computer. Windows 10 has as much compatibility with enterprise software as Blake Lively and an incel.
 
I have to manually search for updates to get any, so no. But I know there was problems with some update not too long ago (that was optional for everyone), maybe they are fixing that.
 
Microsoft released a security advisory alerting people that all recent Windows versions are vulnerable an unauthenticated remote RCE exploit, this is likely to be the biggest exploit for the next years.

I know updates are a p.i.t.a., but this one you guys should really do.

I update windows when i want to, not when MS decides it’s time.

They don't even ask if I want to update, a screen comes up and demands I set a time to shutdown and update.

It's also furious that I haven't logged into One Drive and constantly reminds me. I don't want a cloud drive and don't really need it.
 
|This is why I ditched windows 3 years ago and switched to linux

Microsoft totally ignored what i designated as my hours to do updates and would force them on me in the middle of trying to work.

Linux Mint, ive done 6 incremental upgrades, and 2 main version upgrades and been able to carry on working throughout.

but not all OS kick you out of your system for 4 hours when you are trying to work :D
 
they are stealing your identity. all the updates are to merge you and windows into one.
