Are we sleeping on the fact that this guy is 26 years old?!

Bisping 38
Anderson 42
Romero 40
Jacare 37
Branch 35
Weidman 32 but on a terrible skid
Rockhold 32 but salty asf and modeling
Mousasi 32 but with a ton of miles on him - 48 pro MMA fights

In three years some of these guys will be greatly diminished and Whittaker will be in his prime. If he at least has a competitive fight with Yoel I'm calling it now he will wear the strap one day. If he wins he fucks Bisping up at the end of the year.

hahahaha no one responds to the 1 non McGregor/Mayweather thread

Erik Silva should move up to MW

he's a kid and a prospect for life, i think he is 11 years old

Holy hell Moose is only 32? I thought he was approaching his 40s lol

Had to respond to show my respect for a non Mayweather/McGregor thread.

I think he had a good chance against Yoel. Especially if Yoel keeps it standing. And your right if he doesn't win there is not a lot of young guys coming through.

Moose was a young prodigy for years in MMA before his Strikeforce and UFC days, hardcore's knew he was amazing.

Similar to Douglas Lima, dude was amazing for years before Bellator signed him, a young phenom, one of the best prospects in the world. He's only 29 too.

Plenty of guys like these running around the UFC is just blind to. They're more worried about TUF, fighter kits and women's fights than they are about having the highest level of talent possible. Sigh.

I think Luke is a much better fighter and could hold him back from the strap but yeah there is literally no real prospects in the top 30 or so in that division with a real hope of challenging for the title. Maybe branch could make a decent run but he's nearing forty too, only person who can hold him from the belt is Luke.

Big fan of his and hopefully he beats Yoel and gets the real MW belt , although TBH I do also kinda want to see Yoel win as as you have said he is still young and can earn another title shot whereas Yoel prob won't sniff gold again if he loses and I would love to see a Yoel V Bisping fight .

don't see the fight going to decision, this is the best middleweight matchup fight since Rockhold vs Weidman

Moose is easily the best fighter once father time catches romero (or wada). Whittaker might get a chance or two but moose will reign.

Whittaker and Gastelum are the future.

What's sad is Romero and Jacare both earned their title shots a couple years ago and one or both should have had a few title defenses by now. They were really screwed and now might be too old to get over the hump.

All because they don't speak English.
How shallow is that?

I think Whittaker boxes Luke up - his boxing defense is not that great. Rockhold is much bigger, probably a better athlete, and way slicker on the ground though.

It'd be a great fight imo.

He seems like he's set up to be a perpetual top 5 or better for the foreseeable future. I hope he over-achieves, the division needs it.
