win or lose vs Khabib, could a Conor/Mike Perry fight materialize after?

Yeah I know every Conor fight is a money fight for him, but say if he loses to Khabib and wants to fight 1-2 more times in non-title bouts.

I could see a Conor vs Mike Perry fight materializing, especially after Perry KOs Cerrone the same month as UFC 229.

Who would you guys have? Conor has the more technical striking but Perry has legit one punch KO power at 170lbs, not 145lbs. Plus Perry’s wrestling looked real good vs Griffin and Felder, which would keep Conor guessing on the feet. I think Perry would mix it up with wrestling and win a competitive 48-47 UD due to superior cardio and size.

    Thoughts?

I foresee Conor as a fighting champion, taking on all comers and not dodging anyone.

There will probably be a lot less money for McGregor to make if Khabib embarrasses him as is expected.

    Ha, interesting fight idea.

Perry puts him into a meat grinder. Felder is more skilled than most LW‘s around.

Nah, people will still pay a good penny to see Conor get embarrassed at least 1 more time after Khabib is through with him. People just love to see a big mouth show boat get humbled.

If he gets absolutely starched by Khabib, he might not have many future fights to bank off of. If he can go the distance and lose by a split decision, then he could probably rematch with Khabib, or go for GSP or Nate money fights.

Most of his potential opponents following Khabib are at Lightweight, so if he becomes the champion again he'll be defending the belt regardless.

Said this a long time ago but I could see him defending the belt multiple times and possibly even breaking the record for the most LW Title defenses if he wins it from Khabib (which I expect him to.) Would be one of those ironic things after being criticized for so long for never defending titles.

Win or lose, I would like to see him vs Ferguson. But we will lost likely get McGregor vs Diaz 3.

If Khabib beats Conor like he did barboza or johnson, his career is done

Conor doesn't spend much time handpicking opponents like Anderson or GSP - if he did, he wouldn't have fought Mendes on short notice or Diaz on short notice. I'd expect him to fight the #1 contender after the Khabib fight.

The only easy fight in McGregor's entire career was with 36 year old Siver, who at the time was ranked lower than Poirier and Holloway whom McGregor had already defeated, and had no business being in the cage with McGregor. And this was only because he had earned his way to a title shot, it being customary in such a scenario for the UFC to give an easy fight to up and comers before the big championship fight.

He's gonna defend? like he has many times before? I hope he proves it, if he does beat Khabib.

It depends on how bad he loses. His brand will take a hit if it looks like Khabib has kicked him out of the title picture.

Think GSP, Nate Diaz if both win maybe, but i think he could go for Woodley/Till winner too, that might be too much size tho.

Either he goes back down to 145 to extend his career/recapture the belt for more fame

    Fight Diaz for more money

Try and fight GSP as an exit fight. The reason why I am calling it an exit fight is because there's an high chance he'll get his ass kicked badly and Conor nor the UFC would ever want that unless his career is done.
