Wilson Kaden: James Toney Breakdown

Toney was the man.

The way he rolled, tucked, slipped and than countered was flawless. I wish there was fighters like that today. Why does rolling and weaving seem so uncommon when watching fights today? Let alone countering too.

Because nobody knows hows to teach it.

For sure. You could almost say he was even smoother than Floyd with it. Obviously FMJ will go down as better in all time rankings. But The way Toney would effortlessly work his slips, rolls, counters was excellent.

Because nobody knows hows to teach it.

Do you know how much of his Lineage is around these days? Im sure Toney has a ton of knowledge from pops. He also worked with roach. That combined with his excellent mastery in the ring suggest he would be a good coach himself.
