A rare tripple header on HBO Saturday as there are 2 title belts and a Gatti fight. Why the hell is Gatti fighting, the dude is old, been hit a ton and he faces a guy that was DQ'd in his last fight for testing positive for weed. Oh right, Gatti is Italian and gets much Guido love in New Jersey. I'm sure Gatti/Gomez will be a fun scrap, but the winner will think that he is entitled to a title shot when he isn't even in the top 10.
Kermit Cintron has been screwed over by management and finally gets on HBO. He should beat Matthyse in much the same fashion that Williams did last year. I hope he looks impressive and gets a bigger fight next. Would love to see him face Cotto or the Williams/Margerito winner.
Margarito can't hide from Williams any more. for the past two years, Williams has been knocking people out and calling out Margarito, now he gets his chance. Williams at 6'2" is huge for a welter and he brings solid power. Margarito is a quality top 5 welter who can never get over the hump and get that big win. He beat a very raw Cintron 2 years ago, but Cintron has improved a lot since then. The winner hear sets himself in great shape. It is rumored that if Margarito wins, he already has a match set up with cotto in the fall. And if Williams wins, maybe he can face SSM, Cintron if he wins, or get Cotto as well. Lot of action happening, and I hope to be watching and give a live pbp.
