I knew Khabib would beat Conor but he also knocked him on his ass and landed with his jab.

The man is amazing.

That overhand was so beautifully unexpected.

To play devil's advocate..

you've got to realize that the threat of the takedown enables khabib to get away with so much shit on the feet right? everyone is tentative as fuck even when standing which can make khabibs standup look very respectable.

It is still pretty amateurish, generally speaking. Having one great moment doesn't eliminate the plentiful bad ones, sorry.

If there was no threat of a takedown and Khabib tried to stand and trade with Conor from the get go, he'd probably still be unconscious right now.

It's not great. He's not swinging as wild anymore, but still not great.

I don't think you can look at Conor's striking in this fight and praise it too highly either. He was worn out and slow by the third.

Not really .. let’s see what’s its like against someone with decent TDD

What is this bs myth? Al, Barboza, MJ all had more than just decent TDD and all of them pretty good strikers. Hell even Conor's tdd isn't terrible.

I think a lot of you confuse pretty striking and effective striking. Khabib's may not be pretty, but it was effective.

I believe has the highest striking defense at LW. He also outstruck Barboza, Al, and Conor so to doubt his skill level at this point on the feet would make you oblivious IMO. Sure he isn't a flashy 1 punch KO machine, but he does what he needs, and does it well. His threat of the TD makes it even better than it should be, but that's part of the MMA game. He mastered this shit. 27-0
