Will we see a "new and improved" Baraoldo now that Josay has poisoned his mind?

I was going to laugh at Baraoldo, until I saw you posted it. I still laughed but for a different reason.

And I don't think we will. People say Barao fought "safely" in the Faber fight which he did not. Even if he did, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Aldo just trying to get into Barao's head and chip away at his confidence since he knows one day they'll fight and he would likely lose.

I believe Aldo to be the far more vicious striker, if and when he turns it on. Of course, he has rarely done so since his transition to the UFC.

I've been rewatching and watching other Barao fights for the first time. When the dude is put in some sort of danger he becomes even more dangerous than his aggressor going forward for the kill.

He fears nothing. He's a killer.

    Only time will tell.

I think too many people are riding Baraos jock simply because he has gotten more finishes lately and because Aldo has fought safely.

Aldo IS number one pound for pound, hes been on top for longer and is the superior striker and wrestler, I think Barao might be better at snatching fast submissions but thats it.

Finishes arent everything. Hominick and Lamas both had Aldo on his back but they couldnt do fuck all with it.

Maybe we will. Not vs. T.J. though, Barao will finish him.

Dillashaw will be the test for this. I think most agree that Barao is just a level above TJ and should finish him. If he coasts the whole way a la Aldo/Lamas then we know Aldo's influenced him.

Aldo basically plays big brother with him, their style is similar and Aldo was champion when Barao made his debut in WEC. He probably listens to everything he says, just based on how similar their style is and how highly he talks about him.

Sign, hope he's his own man and keeps destroying.

Also, Aldo's blessed with more explosive speed & power than Barao, he's been relying on it lately, scoring big damage in short spurts. I'm not sure if Barao could be as successful with a conserve/explode type of a strategy. He wants to engage, looks for opportunities more and doesn't back down.

So Aldo wants Barao to follow his blueprint on how not to become a huge PPV draw?

Barao can't afford to start fighting safer. He doesn't have much of a personality and he isn't a casual draw.
