Will there ever get to a point we stop where people say "X fighter is the Mike Tyson of the division"
Or the "Buster Douglas" when its an upset.
Or the "Muhammad Ali" if they point fight/trash talk
the "Holyfield".
 
Better than basketball players. I remember that was a trend here for awhile.

NO. There is a reason mma gets called the insecure little brother of combat sports.
 
They shouldn't, because far from now in the distant future the greatest ones from this time period will all be treasured no matter what sport they served JBG in.
 
They're a higher level,so comparisons from below will be common.

No. Boxers are fighters and athletes too. They also had to self promote with trash talk. It was also the main thing before mma. If anything it's degrading to boxers to be compared to since they have been mastering their craft often since they were children.
