You would think that fans of boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, judo, etc would all like the UFC because a fighter can do anything in a UFC fight that can be done in those sports, and then some. Now, some mma fans will argue that the UFC is much younger than those sports, and therefore is less established, but I don't think that is the problem. What is the problem is that the UFC is not really an international organization. Yeah I remember ultimate Japan, and Ultimate Brazil, but come on, the UFC is an organization that tries to glorify the American fighters, not the best fighters. And how can it ever really be a sport if the media is kept out.
Even pride is somewhat a joke (when have you ever been able to grab onto the ropes in a sreet fight) as it seems to turn away some great fighters because of its unusual contracts stipulations. Will we ever see an international mma fight organization that allows true champions to be crowned from all over the world? I don't think its going to happen in the olympics. Or will we have to keep staring at Dana White's bald head, and bulging wallet for all eternity.

How about a real payday for heavyweights. I think everyone wants to see Arlovski against some of his other fellow countrymen like fedor, or even against cro cop.

what is it with comparing mma to street fights all the time? no you can't grab onto the ropes in a street fight just like you can't stab your opponent in mma...

and the reason not that many top international fighters come to ufc is because ufc pays like 2gs/fight

You can grab onto anything you want to in a streetfight, there's probably not going to be a ring with ropes but there are plenty of other things to grab onto.

This is in the wrong forum, this should be in the MMA forum, or judging by the thread starter

Dude MMA is everywhere and PRIDE and UFC are pretty big worldwide (moreso pride). ITs only a matter of time that MMA organizations really get mainstream.
