Will there ever be a champ that defends more than 3 times again?

Or is that never happening again? It seems like champs defend once or twice or maybe three times at most and then lose the belt. Is there always gonna be a revolving door of champions at every division?

Well usman is currently heading towards number 3 against burns. So we're not too far off from starting to see. But yes I'd wager we see it again

We have a rich history of belts staying with certain champs.

GSP, Anderson, jones, MM, and Usman is on his way if he can beat burns. Big if imo.

If izzy gets past Costa I believe he will be the next one.

Its not over.

Khabib after Gaethje

if he retires at 30-0 that means 4 title defences, a LW record

With all due respect, TS, your question is retarded.

Yes, even right now in a time of less dominant champions, we currently have Jones, Stipe (who just came off his run and might have another), adesanya and usman looking dominant, khabib looking damn near unbeatable, cejudo easily if he hadn't retired, Nunes and shevchenko. Almost all current champions either already have 3 defenses or will likely get there. As usual, the only major sport to compare it to is boxing which has its highs and lows but dominant champions have been recurrent for over 100 years.

1. "Ever" is a pretty long time.
2. There are currently champions with more than three title defenses.
Jones doesn’t count lol he’s from an older era I’m talking about new champs and none have more than 3 defenses unless in forgetting someone. WMMA doesn’t count

Izzy will, IMO.

It's a pretty high standard to set. The guys who have more than 3 title defenses in the ufc are like the goats of the sport, and they all got shots fairly early in their ufc careers.

Jones is from an older era, stipe didn’t get more than 3 defenses he lost, adesanya or usman haven’t defended more than 3 times and I’m only talking about the men’s divisions. I’m not talking about what ifs or what could have happened so don’t bring up cejudo. With all due respect your answer was RETARDED

Kamaru Usman has 2 title defences in Colby and Jorge and Khabib also have 2 title defences in Conor and Dustin. I think Izzy and Volkanovski will lose their belt the next fight they have.

Ok if you're going to exclude certain people then do you understand the concept of "ever"?

It’s an unprecedented accomplishment at HW, which is why Stipe is UFC HW GOAT. No one currently in the HW top ten will achieve this great feat. Stipe bless.

Yeah I don’t think it will happen very often, maybe khabib will do it and maybe stipe but after that it will be very hard to get much more than that. Seems like MMA has too many variables.

Vince McMahon said "how are you suppose to properly promote a champ if you don't know how long he's going to be champ for?"

All records eventually get broken so to answer TS's question yes we will.
