I mean before he lost it. He was very beloved, charismatic, martial arts connoisseur and showing love for traditional martial arts and being a trash talker.

Will there ever be a future superstar?

He's got the skills, the looks, and the charm :) Just has to keep winning and oh BOY <mma4>

Maybe not millions of PPV buys but Ilia could be the next top draw if he wins his next fight.

Jon Jones is never coming back.

Dana and Jon both killed the HW division - unless they somehow bring back Francis.

Even if these guys keep winning, I don't they'll get a quarter of Conor's hype: Khamzat, Pereira/Ank, Dricus, Islam, even Tom

It will be a dark era for the UFC so they need to make new stars now.

It won't be easy to find someone that can talk like Conor did. But that started already to decline around the Aldo fight, so it was only a short period.

Better fighters will be there for sure and if a fighter is good enough, from a western country, with decent talking abilities then it could be a new 'star'.

Oh please GOD I hope not. The forum was an abominable swamp during the height of Conor's popularity, stinking of the obnoxiousness of his fans parroting his cockiness. I remember Sherdog having to essentially split it in two during the whole Conor-Mayweather buildup, in an attempt to quarrentine its stupidity away from our regularly scheduled stupidity.

Yeah, there was a sub-forum for Mayweather vs Conor.

They should have kept it around.

Huh? Conor was still an elite elite shit talker well beyond the Aldo fight.

This comes off haterish

Yes, but with the current state of MMA Fans, the fans are the ones who are keeping fighters from reaching that status. The problem is fans don’t appreciate great fighters they do everything to diminish the wins and their opponents, even the entire fight card. 10yrs ago it was about the fighters, the past 5yrs the fans has focused their attention to Dana, fight cards, placements of bouts, what time the fights starts, complaining more about how much a fighter makes than the fighters, Nina Drama, etc.

The moment the fans stop being fans and actual supporters of fighters is when a superstar is going to come around.

I am not talking about his fighting but solely how I perceived his talking.

Many people didn't like Conor anymore when he started to lose, but for me it started from the Aldo fight. This was the first time I didn't like his talking anymore. Before I liked how he talked but from the Aldo fight it was rather arrogant than clever or funny. For me it was the moment I started to hope he would lose and be humbled, while before that moment I always wanted him to win.

There will be someone but who knows when. One thing people dont seem to understand these things never work linearly. When Conor popped up some acted like he was a nobody for years and nobody knew him untill he beat Aldo. And they claimed even Dave Meltzer who gave info about ppv buys was lying. And they were serious as fook. Think about it. These people said no one knew who he was before his face ended up in billboards next to their house. People can be very dumb if they want to.

No.
Not whilst the UFC dumbs down.
Conor changed a lot for the money side of things.
But so has the business model since then.
Any future star would only be exploitable with Dana's help and I can't help but read into him having a foot out of the door.
Conor and Dana were the stars aligning for UFC.

Still got PTSD don't you?

Most sherdoggers to this day swear there are Conor fanboys everywhere around them. In reality not a single one of them other than a couple parody accounts still linger here.

Relax guys the annoying kids are gone.

Hopefully not. MMA should be a gentleman's sport.

LOL nope. He/she would only be compared to Conor anyways.

Come on, i absolutely hate Conor, but in his prime he was a monster. He would have dismantled guys on the level of Jared Gordon. Paddy doesnt have 1 good win till now and doesnt even have 1/10 of the skill…
