RDA has headlined half a dozen cards, he is one of the 50 most marquee names in the entire sport. Former world champion that has fought all the big names. It was a huge opportunity, Islam didn't show up twice.

If you want to know why Islam took a long time to build, its because he got cartoonishly knocked out in the first round early in his UFC career. He's also been unwilling or unavailable for a number of fights, its a routine thing with him.

Paul Felder has literally said in a broadcast that he would never fight Islam because he’d lose. At what point can we remove a guy from rankings for ducking? These LWs like Hooker, Felder, and Gaethje who won’t fight down after a loss need to get the Leon Edwards treatment and lose their ranking.

He still needs to recover from ramadan and needs a training camp, no fight for a long time

Khabib's manager recently spilled the beans on why Islam hasn't been pushed. It's not pulling out of fights, but the UFC didn't see any point in promoting him while Khabib was champion since the two would never fight each other.

RDA was never a dominant champion. He had a brief run but he wasn't what you'd call a star on the level of Jones, Khabib, or Usman.. In terms of popularity, he has 587k IG followers to Islam's 2.8m.

. Are you really blaming Islam for RDA getting Covid and pulling out from their first fight? The second time Islam got sick and couldn't fight. Now when both are healthy, RDA seems to the one running away.
