He's 13-1 with 11 first round finishes and on a 4 fight win streak with his only loss coming by decision to sam alvey in 2011 and since then he has been training at Jackson-Wink MMA.
I think he would be a good addition to the UFC's Welterweight division

I think I read somewhere he's going to be signed if he wins his next fight.

    Yeah, here it is.

As a final side note, the Indiscutido article mentioned that 29 year old Augusto Montano is being scouted by the UFC for their Mexico City show, provided that he win his upcoming welterweight debut. Montano is 13-1 with a loss to Sam Alvey, having spent most of his career at 185 lbs.

    But are they all active?
UFC says they have 102 fighters in the WW division

here's a list of fighters who have retired, plan on dropping down/moving up, or will be cut

    Ricardo Almeida- retired
Anthony lapsely- probably getting cut if it hasn't happened already
Oliver Aubin Mercier - dropping to LW
    Chad Laprise- dropping to LW
    Duane Ludwig- Retired
    Brian Melancon- Retired
    Nate Marquardt- Moving to MW
    Manuel Rodriguez- Cut
    Matt Serra - Retired
Sam Stout- is on the welterweight roster but Im pretty sure he's moving back down
    Matt Hughes- Retired

Here's a list of fighters who are not retired but haven't fought in over a year:

    Nick Diaz
    Sexyama
    Dan Hardy
    Dan Miller
    Amir Sadollah
    Claude Patrick

And then there is a Random spot on the roster where its says "to be determined" which also take up one spot.

So that's 84 fighters currently on the Roster and 6-8 of them haven't even debuted.. I think its fine that they bring in another welterweight, especially from Mexico since they are trying to expand.

If you think Montano can help captivate an audience in need of captivating, you cut 5-10 of the nobodies to make room.
