Will the UFC release Gastelum?

Seems like something they have been doing lately. Fighters on their way out and pulling out frequently then they just pay them out and release them. I'd guess they like Gastelum more than some but he's been pulling out of a lot of fights and a lot of them were last minute. Personally Stickland is a more interesting fight because Gas seems a little shot. I think he was walking on thin ice before this pull out.

Nah, unless he asks for his release which I could maybe see happening and then he'll most likely end up somewhere like PFL since Ali manages him.
He's mainly lost to top guys, almost every fight he's been in is entertaining and he's still pretty young along with being a notable name.

They've been trying to use him to build up guys like Imavov and Du Plessis by matching them up against Gastelum recently tho, he is unfortunately kinda in a gatekeeper position for guys wanting to enter the top 15 or top 10.
If he loses his next fight it's very likely he could be cut since that'll be three in a row with him most likely getting kicked out the top 15 after that.
