The jab didn't hurt him it just knocked him off balance. His feet weren't positioned right and he got sat on his ass. He popped right back up and was fine.

If I had to guess what his plan is, I would say he'll use his boxing to set up a takedown and try to wear Ngannou out that way. OR, he might stick with the boxing if it works well enough for him early.
