How Oprah Made Her Money

remembered as part of a niche category. like PT Barnum, let's say.

not history book category.

She's accomplished a lot and truly started from the bottom. Gotta give her that.

She'll be remembered in 100 years. Mostly for her exclusive with the TMNT.

She's going to be remembered as a top 10 talk show host.

Along with:

Jerry Springer
Jenny Jones
Phil Donahue
Maury Povich
Riki Lake
Geraldo
Montel Williams

I will remember how nasty that Movie 'Beloved' was....

She ain't got shit on Maury.

I knew I was forgetting someone lol

Are you a huge Oprah fan ts?

Nah, just was thinking about her for some reason and idea of what happens when she dies. I don't think she has kids but has built schools and shit. So what happens to her money when she passes.

But also curious to why she isn't compare to other media mogul like Herst and Tuner.

Morton Downey jr?
His show was way over the top to be taken seriously.
He also had a hard time keeping his composure.

Even the average internet troll would blow his fuse.

She'll be remembered in some form. Probably not as a media mogul, but more of a personality, and a ridiculous rags to riches story.

Doug Stanhope on Oprah: P.T. Barnum of the New Millennium.

Anybody with that kind of self made fortune will be remembered, especially as mass media becomes increasingly central in everyday life. She's a little lacking in controversy, though, for long term notoriety. There will be biographies written about her for a century or so after her death, but at some point she becomes just another rich person from the past who didn't stand for anything specific of note.
