Seeing as Nick Diaz doesn't seem to care whether he fights or not, or if he wins belts or not, or whether he gets suspended or not, what's to say he cares about getting caught with THC in his system again?

Seeing as how the UFC is bending over backwards and changing all of their own rules as they see fit with regards to not suspending a fighter using illegal drugs, what a PR nightmare it would be if Diaz piss tests for weed and/or shows up glossy and red eyed to the post fight press conference high as a kite? What could the UFC actually do? Put him in rehab for weed? Please. Suspend him? Not after giving Jones a hall pass on hard drugs.

If not Diaz, who will be that fighter who is caught for weed? What will happen to them? Obviously the rules only apply to fighters not in the top 10 of PPV draws. The precedent they have set now will cause them grief in the future.

they don't have a new stance

the UFC doesn't care if you do illegal drugs just as long as it doesn't show up on the fight night drug test..

The UFC doesn't care if you fail a drug test as long as you make them a lot of money.

I bet he is going to test positive for alcohol this fight. He's been drinking a lot apparently.

The Anderson fight could be the biggest payday Nick sees again. If he flunks another whiz quiz he might as well kiss his career goodbye.

Well according to the NSAC you are wrong if it's cocaine that shows up. NSAC says "cocaine is not considered a banned substance in out-of-competition testing, which includes 12 hours before a contest and immediately afterward".

    /thread

And I hope Diaz comes in high as monkey tits like in the gomi fight and boxes andersons ears in before testing positive night of fight for inhuman levels of thc and straight 209 crack in his system. A grave and concerned Dana White announces post fight that after failing his drug test that Diaz has been admitted into rehab and that this is GREAT for him and Dana is very proud of Nicholas. Dana is quoted "this kid is like a fucking son to me...I care not about business but his well being as a human ..I'm proud of him for stepping up ya fucking goofs"

nsac or not, the ufc has the blanket "fall back" of a fighter violating the code of conduct, which has been used a number of times for releasing fighters that the ufc generally gets pissed at or wont fall in line.

when it comes to jones, the ufc cant punish him because there may be legal reasons not to penalize or punish him.

so, as long as the ufc sees you as marketable and not some pain in the ass ham and egger, then you are fine.

Fine, we'll do this the hard way; I'll attempt to get you to see reason.

What was the old stance; please provide at least one example.

What is the new stance, and how is it different?

Yep. They can bend their own "rules" to however they see fit, within the legal realm of things, employment-wise.

Their code of conduct is very vague. So they can bend it however they want. A top tier guy gets felony charges no problem. A guy who is a pain in the ass and lost his last fight sends out a tweet with a naughty word. He's gone.

It was the NSAC not the UFC that had a hard stance on weed.

I would rather pull my own teeth with rusty pliers and no novacane than try to reason with someone on Sherdog.
