I know they will weigh less than normal. But what about size/width?
Will they also be smaller, and make it harder to cover up/defend and could let more shots through, kinda like wearing MMA gloves, you can't hide and peek-a-boo with as much coverage?

{<huh}

They're the same gloves Floyd has worn in all but like 4 or 5 of his fights.

"Professional boxers that fight in the ring always wear 8 oz. or 10 oz. gloves. But since there are so many different sizes of fighters and so many different weight classes these fighters will need different sizes of gloves."

Oh. It appears the Nevada one-time never again exception wasn't really a big deal.
It's a nothing thing and they've done it before. They're just using the gloves they'd be using if they fought at 147. They look just like the ones he wore against Pacquiao and nearly all of his other opponents. It's a 2 oz difference and they're still twice the size of MMA gloves.

Same gloves all featherweights use in boxing

They're gonna use the weird gloves with individual, heavily padded finger slots from the kickboxing matches in the early Pride events.

They won't "weigh less than normal." Fights under 154 are always fought with 8 oz gloves. Fights at 154 or over are generally fought with 10 oz gloves (although exemptions are sometimes granted). Floyd has fought with 8 oz gloves in 46 of 49 fights.

Floyd accommodated Conor by fighting at a higher weight than usual and meeting him at 154. Then the idea started floating around (coming from Conor's crew and fans) that Floyd just accepted the 154 weight so he could get 10 oz gloves. So Floyd accommodated Conor again and applied for an exemption to use 8 oz gloves.

They aren't some sort of freak show gloves. They're just the same boxing gloves Floyd has always used.
