Khabib doesn't like being thought of as a one trick pony. Made noticeable in the Al Laquinta fight when he totally disregarded what his corner was shouting and instead decided to stand and awkwardly bang. If he does this against McGregor he is done. He is best off being classic, predictable, boring Khabib and chomping on Conors ankle like a pittbull and lot letting go, then lay and pray with a few elbows now and then until Conor gasses out. But its a huge fight and he is in the spotlight, so some showboating could go on and it could result in his demise.

The fight starts standing in all 5 rounds. He will have zero choice but to engage in the standup as he works for the TD's.

I think he is in worse shape if he does NOT set up his TD by mixing in some striking. It will make Conor's job of stopping the TD attempts if Kabib is 100% predictable from his TD attempts without changing it up just enough to keep Conor guessing.

Look, I like to hug Conors nuts as much as the next man but he has to be a slight underdog against Khabib.
Barbosa would give Conor a serious problem, especially with leg kicks. Agree that Iaquinta is not on Conors level at all.
