Will Jones also have a meltdown if he loses?

As we've observed, the last two arrogant fighters on giant hype trains fell apart mentally the first-time they lost and may never even fight again.

Jones is much better than both of them, but has the most erratic history of all. Would he be able to stand a loss or would it be pillowgate/insta-retirement times 10?

Ummm.... He's pretty much been having a continuous meltdown the last 3 or 4 years?? WITHOUT a LEGITMATE LOSEE ALREAD?!?! Where you been dude, under a rock? He is the Amanda Bynes/Miley Cyrus/ Justin Bie (... ok no that'smore sage....) /Lindsay Lohan, and etc of MMA. A diva. Huge fan STILL.

He became a weed junky after Hamill slaughtered him.
I'm sure this will be no different.

I think he'd handle it and move on. In mma everybody loses sooner or later. One loss is not a reason to throw in the towel. Or at least it shouldn't be.

Funny how DW said Ronda was so mentally strong etc. The same for Conor. Yet both of them folded at the first sign of adversity.

I think Jones would handle it like a pro.

Too mentally tough...he has faced adversity inside the cage and out.

The guy gets in trouble with the law, crashes, etc.

And he still doesn't give a real fuck and does what he does, yet still wins in the octagon.

Conor and Ronda on the other hand, can't face adversity.

I think Dana and Ronda's fans just tried to project every virtue they dreamed of someone having onto her, without realizing that they can't even recognize some of those virtues when they see them.

The question for me re: Bones is whether he prides himself on being an unbeatable UFC champion. Sometimes we have one thing that we stake our ego on, and with that we can handle difficulties everywhere else...but we get really screwed up if we lose that one thing.

I can't comprehend the last three words of this topic. I don't even give OSP a 1% chance of winning this. I think if this fight played out 100 times, Jones wins all of them. I mean if it played out a thousand times maybe I see OSP winning one of those but I'm still not sure. Jones won't lose and if he did, I think he would have a reason to feel insane... so yeah I guess I do think he'd have a melt down but he's lost a lot in wrestling before and that's what makes these former wrestlers so tough so maybe he would just soldier on. It's a good question because it's based on a very abstract idea and it's not easily answer.

No I don't think so. Jon's rise was much slower and well earned.

At this point a loss wouldn't be as big of a deal.

Hmm.. well 1. Bones is NO hype train. 2. He's already lost to this guy

and 3. YES he will have a meltdown, but in a different way. I think Bones can take a loss. BUT he'll go hardcore "Alpha" with the drugs and drinking/driving. I hope I'm wrong.. I LOVE Bones, but is normal for heem

I don't thik that would happen. Jones is a true champion who can overcome adversity. Obvious im talking about the gus fight (maybe vitors armbar attempt too). Jones said he made a decision to win that fight (which I interpret as a decision to not give up).

It's weird that I can't picture Jones going off the rails after a loss, considering all of the shit he's done. Not a fan myself, but even if I was, I wouldn't be particularly worried about him if he lost. If anything, I think it might force him to re-evaluate and re-dedicate himself to his career. The success is what's going to fuck Jones' life up.

You might want to review this thread where I asked how the UFC would handle the situation if Nate beat Conor and a bunch of people told me it wasn't going to happen. Including that Nate had no KO power, it was on 10 days notice etc etc.
