In his last two fights, we've seen Jones rely on clinch-fighting a lot. He's been very sucessful at it. Does anyone think that this may be a strategy he has prepeared for Gus?
Jones had a very hard time with Gus. He might not want to risk going into the fight with the same strategy. Heavy clinch-fighting could be his way to defeat Alexander. Gus isn't known for his clinch work. Jones definitively has the advantage there unlike in the boxing range. On the flip-side, Alexander is very hard to nail down, since his fighting-style relies on a lot of movement and range, so getting into the clinch could be troublesome.
So, does anyone think that Jones focuses so much on clinch-work in order to be able to beat Gustafsson?
