Will Jacare always be overshadowed by Pantshold, does he have a chance ?

I do feel bad for Jacare as he really has championship level skills to win it all but at the same time it's kind of hard to see him not getting picked apart and dismantled by Luke. Does he have a marginal chance of beating him or is his number in Lukes pocket no matter what he does.

I question whether the current Vitor can beat a top 10 guy, I knew he would gas immediately and fall apart, and that is exactly what happened.

I think it's because of the result of the fight 5 years ago, which if I remember correctly took place standing the whole time. In those 5 years, both fighters have grown quite a bit though and I'd like to see the rematch. I don't think Rockhold will walk through him. Definitely a tossup.

All due respect to Vitor and what he's done in the past but his time has long passed, I don't give much weight to Jacare for winning a fight in fashion that was expected of him. That being written, I think anyone has chance to beat anyone but I would not expect him to win against Luke, what he did to Weidman was nothing short of spectacular.

That fight was also close though and wasn't it a split decision or something? For Rockhold to be assumed to 'pick him apart' the conclusion would have to be that he has evolved a lot more.

Jacare deserves an opportunity, and imo he stands a solid chance against Luke or Weidman. That said, I would still consider either as a small favorite over Jacare.
Like others have said, Jacare/Luke 1 was razor close, and really either could have won. It has been a while since I watched it, but I recall not being sure who would get the nod going into the score cards. Both men have improved drastically since then.
And I wouldn't be so quick to write-off Weidman against Luke either. That is a very competitive match up as well.

If you have a hard time not seeing Jacare getting picked apart and dismantled by Luke, all you need to do is watch their fight. Luke won but that's not how it happened at all
