    I dont think so.

You could possibly install entire world knowledge known to human in every aspect, languages, sports, habits, hobbies, professions etc. But it still gonna be scripted "machine". Answering your questions based on installed knowledge.

Its not a matter of technology in my opinion. Its something what cant be created by humans at least.

But yeah, discuss. Whats your thoughts?

Too bad you think that. I already did it. ("I" am a robot made by my master with his fully uploaded consciousness, he's getting a blow job from another bot rn so I take over posting during those 45 minute slots 3 x per day.)

We are the AI! The Dinosaurs were our creators but we made their bitch asses extinct once we figured out how to use swords and shit.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, given a long enough time to work on it.

    Yeah, for sure.

I'm not sure where you're going with the talk about installing information. While information access surely is useful in developing a sentient artificial intelligence (especially the heuristic parts), it's not really the main crux, as far as my limited understanding of the subject goes, and nobody believes that current AIs are limited by any lack of information.

What do you base your opinion that it can't be done on? Your reasoning isn't very clear to me.

Any sufficiently complex system is capable of manifesting "emergent" behaviours that were never envisioned by the original creators. If we are talking about machine learning systems, even with comparatively crude approximations of biological processes, I don't doubt that we will get something that surpasses its programming. And that is without even considering other ways of modeling neurons besides transistors.

Whether it is sentient in the same way that a human is sentient is up for debate. But already cetaceans, great apes, possibly crows could be considered 'self aware'.

We may not see the singularity in our lifetimes, but "Ever" is a long time.

I think if we avoid killing ourselves or the planet for the next few hundred years, then pretty much anything is possible. Technology and computers are developing at such an astonishing rate, no one really knows what's going happen in the future. 100 years ago, no one could've really predicted just how much computers and the internet would change the world.

I wouldn't be surprised if we created both artificial AI, and "worlds" indistinguishable from our own to house the AI.

We will eventually create ai and when we are gone they will create ai. This has gone on forever and will continue forever.

I thought this thread was about Allen Iverson.
