Economy Will Florida Become The Next New York?

Well, if you want to do drugs and drink alcohol in the streets, then Baltimore is your happy place.

That’s just two examples. I can keep going. You’ll just find whatever I bring up as a negative but it still gets my point across. You aren’t any more free in Texas or places in the South who have harsher laws. That’s ultimately what freedom boils down to, unless you aren’t talking about real freedom but perceived freedoms from your police state.
 
Not likely. First, it's not New York the state that's a business hub, it's NYC.

So, the better question is can Miami become the next New York? And the answer is "no". The real issue is population density.

The large and dense NYC population acts as an incubator for certain types of talent. NYC has 110 universities and colleges and over 590,000 students. Miami has 15 in the city and 42 in the region. In the NYC region, you'd be looking into Northern NJ, Southern Ct. The Miami hub simply does not produce the scale of graduates to allow them to supplant NYC.
