Will conditioning help me get rid of those nerves, because i get the shakes before fighting. Also is there any kind of workouts that anyone recomends that will maybe help me get that tunnel vision/ stoicism. Like fedor. Like to help my mental strength.

Sparring, only thing that will help you deal with nerves, the more used you are to getting hit the less scared you are of fighting.

Mental strength comes with experience. Not too many things you can do in the gym to get that.

How about aerobic work? Hours of running/hours of nervous stress, it's all the same to your body. Until you reach the stage at which don't get the shakes anymore (which I guess comes only from experience), having a good aerobic base will certainly lessen the physical toll.

Also, relaxation/breathing techniques might help you.

one thing my trainer tells me is that...as long as you train REALLY hard for the fight....give it all in training,, you shouldnt feel nervous...well butterflies maybe a bit,,but not to the point where ur pissing ur pants

My coach has me jump rope before I spare to help relax and get rid of the nervous tension.
Otherwise it takes me a round before I relax and can flow.

Thats just me though!

the more you compete the more your body adapts. then you start to use the nerves to your advantage.

Never hurts to know that you've poured a lot of time, sweat and effort into your conditioning when you need a confidence booster before a fight, but of course sparring and experience will be your best helps here.

If you going in not thinking, but KNOWING, that you have a better game plan and you are conditioned enough to execute it, then you lose the nerves. somebody once asked me 'what hurts more, the 0-15 minutes that you're fighting, or the two months of two-a-days that you poured into it?

p.s. listen to brandon, his sig. summarizes what I just said.

yeah, I agree.

Look at it this way, if your cardio is way up, that is a MAJOR thing you don't have to worry about, therefore lessening the nerves.

this man speaks the truth. if you aint nervous, you dont have enough adrenalin flowing thru ur body. adrenalin makes ur faster , stronger and raises your pain threshold(and gives u tunnel vision) at the cost of stamina. theres a quote from mike tyson, something like fear is like a fire, if u use it right it will warm ur house, if u let it outa control , it will burn your house down.

Very good observation.. However, you should do lots of sparring, with at least 50% from both of you guys, because you also don't want an injury after a fight
