Haven't heard much chatter, any rumors on if he is close to signing? I'm curious to see his figures, he is a good fighter but he seems to have shot himself in the foot in terms of financial leverage when it comes to signing a contract.

Brooks belongs in the UFC....but I wouldn't be surprised if they have no interest in him

This. He didn't exactly light the world on fire as far as finishing fights in Bellator. I hope Dana doesn't pull an Askren on him.

He has said on his Twitter numerous times how he's interested in being a UFC fighter, I'm interested as well, I hope I'm wrong but maybe the UFC isn't interested

There's a possibility that they aren't interested at all.

If he does get signed, it will be for peanuts. They'll also put him in against a murder's row in his first few fights.

I doubt they're interested. Why would they want him after their rival organization cut him as champion?

He also doesn't have the most exciting style. Does the ufc really need another lightweight wrestler decision machine?

From what I remember I believe he said he can't say anything until the 15th of June. I may be completely wrong on this but I feel like I saw that on his Twitter

UFC is probably waiting on Alvarez/RDA. If Alvarez gets smashed, the Bellator Champion thing becomes less of a bargaining chip. Not saying that is completely fair, but his biggest claim to fame is beating the guy that went 1-1 vs. Alvarez, and Alvarez hasn't really lit the world on fire at 155 like a lot of people thought he would.

Are you thinking of Michael Chandler?

Ahh sorry I misunderstood

Edit: just re-read, my mistake
No worries, and for the record I'd like to see both Chandler and Brooks in the UFC. I wouldn't expect belts from either one of them, that division is insanely stacked, but there is a shitload of good fights to make for either of them.

He signs the moment he accepts 35/35 contract. Its that simple.

I've actually never seen them fight tbh but i've heard good things

It would really be a shame if he goes to OneFC or some place like that.

Both Alvarez/Chandler fights were fucking wars. And from what I remember, Brooks beat Chandler pretty good, but it wasn't terribly exciting. Chandler just didn't look like he was in the fight the same way he was against Alvarez. I think they are all on a pretty similar level.

Chandler will likely never fight in the UFC. He's Bellator's boy and it seems he'll be with them for the foreseeable future. If he ever changes his mind and wants to be in the UFC in the future, it'll be too late. He already has looked like he's declined after the second fight with Eddie. The way Brooks finished him was horrific, too. I doubt he'll ever be the same.

He looked ok when he beat the Caveman but let's be real, that was a complete gimme for him and it was nowhere near as easy as it was the first time they fought. That seemed more due to Chandler not being the same, physically, moreso than Rickels improving.

I'm not a big Bellator guy, I see the events from time to time. I thought Chandler looked more mentally fucked up in his post Alvarez fights. I obviously could be wrong, but he came into those fights with Alvarez like a man possessed, and after that he looked like he had a completely different mindset against Brooks. If it's mental and not physical, he could fix his shit and still have some great fights in him. Again though, I'm not expert on Bellator or their fighters.
