Trumps tough on China was one of the few things Trump did well in his presidency. Could have been better with more coordination with other western countries unitied against China in the trade war. But that route is better than trying to play nice with China as they commit inhumane acts and try to build their economy to spread their authority and authoritarianism government influence.

Why should we suck up to China? The same CCP-controlled China that brought us the coronavirus and screwed every country over? The same China that, while everyone was distracted with dealing with the coronavirus, used that time to blame other countries as the source of THEIR virus outbreak, attack India, take over HK, and harass Australia as well as SE Asian countries?

The thing we need to do is to stop, or at the very least, minimize our dependence on China. Remember how they were threatening to not make the medications the US needed, as well as stopping PPE from being sent to us? They held hostage important supplies that the US needed. That should not happen ever again. Japan had the balls to move their manufacturing out of China. Australia is countering China as well via their own trade war. So should we. As long as the CCP is in charge, they're no friend of ours.
