Arlovski has some of the best grappling at heavyweight, but rarely uses it. Anyone think he'll surprise us and submit Browne?

Arlovski will use the ground as a mattress against Browne.

I don't know. I feel like Arlovski's speed, power and precision may be too much even for new refined Browne. It's been a while since Arlovski used his ground game offensively and I wonder if it degraded like Nelson's.

He doesn't have the wrestling to take Travis down IMO. If Barnett couldn't take him down/keep him down, I doubt AA would be able to. I expect to see a return of the tentative Arlovski who doesn't want to get into a war and isn't exactly sure how to proceed from there.

Hm I havent seen to much of Arlovski but he supposedly has a glass chin, I cant see him standing with Browne if thats the case, He wont stand for long if he tries.

Ive seen enough of Browne and hes got holes in his game but the guy is an animal in the first especially.

Might be a decent idea, but when was the last time AA tried any kind of ground game?

And in the last 5 years, the only time I can recall it is wrestling for top control and a bit of GNP.

I think Achilles Lock Andrei may be a thing of the past.

I'm a huge AA fan and I really don't like this fight for him. Browne's power is scary and his length will allow him to land hard from outside of AA's range.

Maybe he can trip Browne, AA has great outside trips. I wouldn't want to see him stand there.

Nelson's grappling was always overrated. His style on the mat poses no threat to top guys.

I can see him rockin' Browne then finishing it with a sub like he did to Timmy.

negative. arlovski does have a submission game, but he has almost no wrestling offense. he won't be able to sniff a takedown against travis browne. if arlovski shoots on browne the fight will be over rather quickly.

arlovski needs to use his movement and boxing to win the fight. if he catches browne and rocks him, he might be able to submit browne, but more than likely he'll need to ding browne up and keep him confused like werdum did.

This. It's too bad when talented, well rounded fighters ignore half of their abilities and settle for just striking.

I think that he will use his nose as a receptacle for Browne's elbow. I'm a long term fan of Arlovski, but I don't think this ends well for him.

Achilles himself is more relevant at this time.

Nah. AA has incredible TDD, but his offensive TDs are lacking in MMA. He'd just eat hellbows trying.

I feel the same way. Big AA fan but I fear he is going to get brutally KO'd.

I dont see AA taking Browne down, its going to be a stand up fight and he wont have an easy time like he did with SIlva. Browne is more mobile, faster and harder to hit, AA is going to really have to take some risks and fight if he wants to win......like Werdum did.

There are a few ways AA can beat Browne.
If needed he will use his ground game likely only as a defense if needed or to get back to his feet. i doubt he will opt to use it as offence.

The safest way for AA to win is simple . footwork with quick in and out combos . I doubt he will be able to ko/tko Browne but he can easily outwork him and once it hits about mid 2nd round if Arlovski doesn't get care less Browne will gas and he will be able to take a easy one sided UD from there.
