No. I figure not voting at all accomplishes the same damn thing.
I'm in a deep blue state too. I can't think of a better use for my vote than to weaken the 2 party system.Still undecided but what I know fir sure...
Trumps a cunt. All he has to do to win is be civil and not lie. He can't do it.
Harris is an idiot. This puppet will continue the policies that have set this country back. All she has to do to win is let trump be an asshole and lose her adlibing circuitous nonsense.
Oliver has no chance but voting for libertarian can help keep them on the ballot if they ever get a viable candidate. He supports trans in women's sports since he is gay but not sure that policy even matters nationwide.
My state will go blue with or without my vote. Honestly think I might pass altogether for the first time since I got old enough to vote.
Now you’re going old school, the way elections used to be before the 12th Amendment. The loser became the winner’s VP. Could you imagine Kamala as POTUS and Trump having to be her VP?? Or vice versa. What a shitshow that would be.ok hear me out
if Trump wins, he should fire JD Vance as VP
and hire Biden as his new VP
would be very funny
im dreading this election so i am trying to think of the funniest scenarios as sort of a coping mechanism. what is life without laughter anyway? Now you’re going old school, the way elections used to be before the 12th Amendment. Welcome bud. Hope you come around more often. I've been anti-politician for a while and think both parties are out for themselves. However, I dont see any good by voting 3rd party. We have who we have imo.Hello all,
I don't post in this forum very much but I am just curious to hear opinions.
I plan to vote 3rd party as I am disgusted with both Democrats and Republicans and I cannot stand Trump or Harris.
I am not sure exactly who I will vote for. I was thinking Chase Oliver of the Libertarian party since he's a new face. I'm not really a Libertarian but I do like some of what he stands for. I like some of what Jill Stein and Cornell West stand for but I don't know if I'm committed to voting for either.
I may also just choose to write in a troll vote like Budd Dwyer or Deez Nutz or something.
Will any of you be voting 3rd party or doing a write in vote for a candidate that's not on the ballot?
hello, thank you for the welcome. i dont like talking politics a lot of the time since so many people take things so personally and dialogue often gets ugly and vitriolic.Welcome bud. Thats fair. There are still many reasonable peeps in here if you wanna post. Yeah there are the extremes but you get that in the heavies haha. We have been stuck in this two party system for many many years and that's just our reality. But I get the disenfranchisement feelings and its cool to vote for whoever. I'm curious the turnout. Without excitement from many if they will just stay home.hello, thank you for the welcome. i dont like talking politics a lot of the time since so many people take things so personally and dialogue often gets ugly and vitriolic.
i get what youre saying and i respect it. but to me, it just feels so depressing and wrong to be relegated to the options we have. it almost feels like im voting as a defeated man if i voted R or D. but in a way, voting third party feels like im doing it to spite the two major parties.
basically
oh i dont have anything against any poster on this forum - didnt want to give that impression. ill talk to anyone as long as both parties are civil. not here to start arguments or get into shit-flinging.Thats fair. That would be great if noone voted but I dont think it will happen anytime soon. Enough people will still cling to the belief that their side is just and righteous. But overall we still have a great country and the sky wont fall either way imo. Nothing to lose sleep over.oh i dont have anything against any poster on this forum - didnt want to give that impression. ill talk to anyone as long as both parties are civil. not here to start arguments or get into shit-flinging.
ive often thought in the past few years - what would happen if no one voted in a presidential election? like what if there was some mass protest like Lying Flat in China where Americans just collectively say "screw this, we have crappy options, im not doing it." i know its purely a hypothetical scenario that probably wont ever happen, i would just be curious to see what would unfold.
Why not just stay home instead?Hello all,

No the reason third parties are not viable is because we have a first past the post voting system which creates conditions that tend to lead to two parties. And anyway the third parties we have right now are completely unserious and undeserving of your vote regardless of whether FPTP necessarily leads to a two party systemits that sentiment that guarantees that there will never be viable third parties, because Republicans and Democrats have thrown out so much propaganda that an opinion like yours is prevalent and considered right. please dont think i am insulting you though, i am just very disappointed that this viewpoint is basically the default.
You can waste your vote on these third party candidates if you want, that's your right as an American.i will not vote Republican or Democrat in national elections, ever. both parties have ruined this country in different ways. so hypothetically what do i do? should i just not vote? im registered as Unaffiliated. i want to vote for a candidate and a party that i have confidence in.
but i do very much agree with you about local elections. those are so important. its where people can really see their vote as being most effective. the larger the scale of the election, the less your vote feels like it matters.
This is the kind of low IQ thinking that the third parties attract. Yeah third parties are not viable because of a government psy-op and not the structure of our elections or the fact that they're completely unserious and ineffectual. The "waste of a vote" concept is one of the most toxic concepts for the long term development of the country. It just filters all votes towards two massive parties that have zero incentive to be anything else but corporate stooges and the visible part of the wealth class. It's so toxic in fact i suspect it was concocted in the think tanks that feed on big money and released and subsequently parroted by the slaves of the order that opposes meaningful progress.
