Will an Asian fighter ever hold a championship belt?

Also arguably the greatest WMMA fighter ever - 115lbs legends Megumi Fujii! On top of Sakurai, Funaki, Gomi and Sakuraba, Asia has produced some genuine greats.

BjPenn, Lyoto Machida, B.Henderson, Lawler

Yes, everyone is aware of their mixes but I mean fully Asian, not mixed. People of mixed race seem to excel in athletics across the board.

Cung Le was certainly an ass kicker and Mark Munoz was no joke either, but I just don't see another Sakuraba anywhere on the horizon. Gomi was such a disappointment when he came to the UFC. Dong is solid but he always seems to gas. And what about south Asians? Indians are 1/6th of the world but essentially zero percent of fighters.

Things change pretty fast in this sport. Ireland was nothing a few years ago, now its the next big thing. The same could be said about Sweden. All it takes is one guy.

And all this talk about "not explosive enough" is bullshit. There are plenty of champs that are not explosive at all. And even if Asians, on average, have less fast twitch fiibers than blacks, there's a wide range of variation in any race, and the elite Asians will be way more athletic than the merely well above average black or white guys. Every olympics theres some Japanese guy who makes the finals in the 100m. He usually gets last place, but he's still faster than all but maybe a couple dozen black guys.

As a side note, I have always wanted Andy Wang to fight BJ, just for the extensive pun potential.

"Wang's getting the BJ treatment" etc etc

If Aldo and McGregor move to LW, I think KZ could be the FW champ when he gets back from military service.

KZ and Hyun Kim are the only top ten contenders. Sad but at least they have an outside chance of maybe fighting for the title someday.

more mixed, great chance to have strong and well rounded body.

consanguinity = weak body

Dude, halfers and mix-breeds also tend to be gorgeous and better in a lot of ways because they take the best of two groups and join them together. Look at Machida, a guy with Brazilian bravado and Japanese discipline -> champion... though sadly his chin comes from his J-side.

What a joke. If some nation produces iron chins, it's Japan. Fujita, Gomi, Misaki, Sakuraba, half of the shitty pro-wrestlers in Pride.

At what weight class?
Women or men?

Culture? LOL! Go take biology classes such as human physiology and genetics...

You must think all humans are created equal...

Not this shit again. It's proven wrong time and time again in these forums alone. East Asians being less athletic and strong and explosive bla bla. They are smaller on average, that's it. And as people have stated, they are not some homogenous group; there are ethnic groups in China that are some of the tallest people on Earth.

What explains their excellence and at some parts dominance in weight-lifting, gymnastics, speed-skating, boxing, wrestling, judo, muay thai, swimming etc etc? How come their best distances in running, swimming and speed-skating are always the short ones (+marathon in running), which all require explosiveness the most?

Have you noticed that Japan consistently produces top10 100m sprinters? Yoshihide Kiryu was out of the last world championships with an injury, but still holds the world record time for under 18 year-olds. The fastest non-black teams are Japan and China, which just won silver.

If you can't explain these, stop the bullshit. I don't care what some dr. Mengele says about muscle fibres or densities, if it doesn't stop East Asians from excelling at aforementioned sports.

Golf requires hand-eye coordination, good aim, and focus - the qualities that Asian athletes are not deficient at. This is why Asians do well in sports such as table tennis.

Sports such as basketball, football, MMA, etc. favor those with more power and explosiveness, muscle and bone density to absorb more damage, etc., and because of this reason, certain races naturally do better than others in these sports.

Basketball: East Asians are too short generally

American football: nobody plays that shit. EXCEPT Japan, which is by the way world's #2 after the US. But even there it's a minority sport.

MMA: it's dying in Japan. They used to have some of world's best (in the lower weights of course). New names are not appearing like they used to. I think it's growing in Korea, but it's still small.

Ability to absorb damage? Hah. Japanese are second to none there. Are you kidding?

gomi, suzuki, funaki, kawajiri, misaki, aoi, etc.... all have held belts in major mma organizations.

If you mix up "X" and "x," you will still have "Xx." You will never have "Y" by mixing X's together.

If you mix East Asians with East Asians, they will still be East Asians. You won't ever get a Black person by mixing Asians together.

No, it's because Africans from Africa have to worry more about putting food on the table and don't have the resources and opportunities like Afro Americans have here in America, such as high school sports programs, training facilities, coaches, sponsors, etc.

Look how much China has invested into their basketball programs... look at how many NBA stars they have produced...

East asians are not just X and x, they have a huge variability. You have 5 foot 100lbs dudes and you have yao ming, you have pasty white chinese and almost black skinned chinese, and so on.

China has been doing pretty well in basketball considering how young the sport is there.
Their NBA was founded in 1995.
It is like the USA in football, millions play it and they never won a world cup, how many americans play football at Real Madrid or Barcelona?
Damn, americans must suck at football.

The point you made about africans also applies to east asians, most chinese are not middle class americans that can play sports at college, they are either factory workers or peasants with shitty diets.
Pretty hard to become a professional athlete when you need to assemble iphones all day long.

If they would just give her a fight...
