Why does GGG get a pass for fighting the Bum of the month club and yet Wilder get shit for it. How come more people like GGG for KOing people and not Wilder when he has a better KO ratio and KO people Quicker and Better than GGG. Wilder does everything that people love GGG for yet Wilder doesn't have as many fans as GGG or get hype as much. Is it cause he is not White or cause he is with Haymon? What do you think it is?

It is because he is in the heavyweight division, which is terrible. With GGG, you can imagine him fighting someone like Cotto/Canelo/Chavez/Ward later on, but with Wilder, he has nobody until Klitschko, and nobody after Kltschko. Hell, I would argue that GGG gets more hype than Klitschko himself for the same reason. Also A heavyweight fighter having KO power doesn't say much because a lot of them can get KOs. I think GGG gets a lot of hype because of how much punching power he packs in a relatively small frame. It is almost a mythical level thing.
 
GGG fights the best guys who will fight him. Cotto will not fight him and Quillin is with Haymon and that's not gonna happen even if it was possible. Geale and Murray are hardly "bums." What do you want from him?

You don't really think that Wilder has fought the level of competition that GGG has, do you?

Geale, Murray, Macklin, and Rubio were all ranked in the top 10. I believe Wilder has only fought 1 guy ranked in the top 10.
 
Well Wilder has faced two notable opponents in his 33 fight career. One of them was the champ Bermane Stiverne, the other was a decent fighter in Malik Scott. I don't count Liakhovich because he was way past his prime and coming off a huge lay off. The rest, however, have all been complete bums. I don't mean bums like most ignorant fans use the term to describe average fighters, I mean like second-job-is-a-bus-driver-bums. GGG's recent opponents have certainly been better than The Gavern's, Firtha's and Harrison's.
 
Wilder homer but Wilder has not fought the level GGG has. Even though I do think the level GGG has is a bit overblown.
 
Ts must be joking. If he can't figure the reason out then it's game over.

No. I will agree that GGG has fought the better comp but who is fighting tonight. Someone that he is expected to walk though just like Wilder's next fight but people in Wilder's thread are give him shit for taking Staying Busy fights and GGG gets Love for staying busy. But both guys are Mega Fav when it comes to the odds and both guys are fighting guys a level below them but GGG doesn't get the same heat Wilder does.


Watch both fight's PBP thread come fight night. GGG will be full of Ooos and Awes and Wilder's will be full of hate.



And I shouldn't have used the word Bum in the OP. that's wrong.

there some decent fights for Wilder at HW outside of Wlad but everyone wants to just fight Wlad, so he gets stuck staying busy with no names.Which isn't a bad thing cause it helps build him up to the public but the public doesn't seem to want it for some reason.

But him vs Provet,Fury,Monsour,etc make for great fights, but we just not getting them. Same with GGG vs KidC,Jacobs,Cotto,etc.. yes,I know Kid and them won't/Can't fight him and all that.
 
Cuz Wilder is Black, is with Haymon, and is not an HBO fighter.
 
No one will fight golovkin and wilder can't fight a legit opponent other than Wlad in the public perception.

GGG has been fighting the highest level guys in his division for a while, Wilder just has a lot of catching up to do. Tonight is a step down for GGG in some ways because the guy is not ranked top 10.

But even with the step down, Wilder is fighting the 44th ranked heavyweight while GGG is fighting the 17th ranked middleweight. So he's still fighting a much higher level of competition.

I think the reason you see Wilder get heat is because he just isn't as skilled as Golovkin, and he doesn't have the pedigree. So people have a lot more questions about Wilder's ability than GGG's.

The heavyweight division is NOT terrible. These are just a few of the young, quality undefeated boxers. Many were former national and world amateur champions and Olympic representatives.....Wilder has qualified opponents for years to come.

different weight classes
different agendas
different age group

i mean if your part of ggg's camp you gotta make your money now, they gotta put together better fights
 
One just got a belt in his division, the other already has 3. Not to mention he took a top opponent to a UD, while the other has been KO'ing top opponents.

They arent comparable, maybe one day wilder will get up there, but casuals dont/haven't seen much of him. Kind of like ward, but I think Wilder will be more popular than Ward. Who wants to watch a fight in Oakland? I live 30 mins away. I wouldnt want go to oakland unless its watching Curry play.
 
People should give COtto more shit

Golovkin calls out Cotto because Cotto holds the belt.

Cotto fights someone that Golovkin just beat.
