I noticed the last few weeks, I have been completely unable to fall asleep at my houst, which is completely unlike me. Ususally I have a hard timestaying awake and begin nodding off around 10:30, but Ive been feeling completely wired and anxious with racing thoughts, pulling consistent all nighters. The only thing That has been helping me fall asleep is bennadryl, which I dont want to build a tolerance to, and makes me feel groggy in the morning.

I had made no lifestyle changes so I was completely confused as to what was happening. I also had been having a hard time being able to take a full breath during the day. I figured it was just some sort of anxiety or seasonal allergies, both of which I dont ever really have and thought "maybe its just a new thing I have to deal with with getting older", but I needed to solve the insomnia issue since it was effecting my daily life. I tried a slew of sleeping supplements, none of which worked.

I ended up staying the next week at my girlfriend's place since Ive been in the process of moving in. I noticed I was able to fall asleep extremely easily there, no breathing issues, or anxiety. I figured maybe it was all in my head then and I was overthinking. I forget all about the sleeping and breathign issues and make my way back home the next week and Im right back to having the same problems. I absolutely can not sleep at night, and have racing thoughts/breathign issues.

I realize that the only lifestyle change Ive made since ive had my sleeping problems is thta I upgraded my wifi from 2.4Gz aT&T to Comcast 5Gz (I went from a 27 mbps download speed to 400mb/ps download speed lol).

I didnt expect this to be the factor in my sleep, but I have been watching Andrew Huberman videos on sleep and he suggested to remove all devices from the room/ I end up just pulling the plug on my modem and within an hour Im passed out.

I thought it could be a placebo, but at the same time, why would somethign as mundane as unplugging my wifi work when all these sleep supplementrs didnt, especially when expected the supplements to work and expected unplugging my wifi to barely even move the needle.

Anyway Ive been unplugging my modem every night before bed and sleeping like a baby. Maybe its a placebo, but I doubt it, the racing thoughts thing is like a night and day difference/ Now when my head hits the pillow I feel pretty peaceful. If youre having sleeping issues, give this a shot. cant hurt.

tl;dr unplugging my modem at night helped my sleeping issues

I remember the scene in invisible man where the villain's internet, wifi, etc shuts down at sleep time.

Doubt it interferes though.

I'm no psychiatrist, but it seems that you having a manic episode right now due to sleep deprivation

I used to keep my cell phone charging within 1-2 ft of me.. now it’s about 4-5ft away from me.: can’t say I feel a difference…

Brainwaves exist.
Brain is like an antennae.

Interesting. My router is in the same room I sleep in. But if I turn it off then nobody can use Internet until I wake up, and I don't want to have to always be the first one up.

Im pretty sure you can set it on a timer or something. cant hurt to try

I used to sleep with my 5ghz wifi router on my nightstand. No issues. I work out a lot during the week though so when I lay my head down I'm out in like 10 minutes.

everyone is different tbh. could be the adjustment of going from crap wifi to good wifi. I also have like 5 devices in my room, PC, laptop, PS5, Google home and phone.
