IMO, this is the moment when Dana decided he wanted Ariel gone.

I agree with dana here. how can you spend 10m on promotion for an event and have connor not show up to do the commercial?

Ariel said just let them fight who cares but the UFC cant let a fighter dictate the terms like that.. it could lead to other fighters rising up and trying to skip press conferences etc.. if you let one person do it then others might try.

they put their foot down and connor folded so it was the right decision in the end.

Reporters often play devil's advocate to test the thinking of the person you are questioning.
Don't assume that by asking this question, he was espousing a point of view.
 
i don't personally like Ariel but however....Jounalism is about asking questions (comfortable or not) and giving people news (with or without permission)...
I don't like the idea of jounalists working for a company (UFC in this case) they should be independent
I also dislike the idea of somebody being banned for telling the truth (even if it's only a spoiler)
