Didn't watch the fight but heard big john kept warning him over and over again. Should a point been deducted?

It it had happened again after being warned it probably would have. But it didn't so it's a useless topic.

If im the ref I don't interject myself in the scoring of such a great fight by taking a point unless I absolutely have too , Factor in nothing was intentional and both guys were doing it

Both fighters were warned and both got poked in the eye, no point deductions necessary

McCarthy just likes to run his mouth about things that "could" happen.

He was warning both Gus and Jones for sticking their fingers out. It doesn't warrant a point deduction he was more or less telling them if you poke him in the eye you will lose a point because I warned you multiple times to keep the fingers in.

Gus did get poked in round 1 I think. After that Big John was warning both of them quite often.'

After the poke he told Gus and Jon "You are both sticking your fingers out". Again, after that he said it in every round but it was the only eye poke of the match.

you (should) get a point taken when you commit multiple infractions. Not when you commit one (fairly mild) one and then get warned multiple times because you are too close to committing another one. You actually have to do the bad deed, again. Unless of course you grab the fence, in which case some refs will just warn again and again and again and again and again (didn't happen in this fight thankfully). Big John is one of the best.

Exactly. Can't deduct a point for something he didn't do yet. Grabbing the cage is different. Do it once get a warning do it again MAYBE another warning if not a point deduction because you actually made an infraction.
