I think Dana and Co don't give this much consideration.

Maybe since there's new management they can drop his contract because there are serious problems with this fight and the image damage that may result to the brand.

UFC has worked for years to clean up and appeal to broader audiences....

CM is a aged, multi-concissuion, multiple injuries, bad knees and generally highly worn wrestler guy w 0 experience, going against a budding young contender who trained his whole life, did great in minors and dominated his first two Pro fights.

Dana's estimation that Punk should fight a guy w 1-0, 2-0 Pro Record is ridiculous.

Cyborg's recent skull fracture reminds us of the severity of MMA. Cyborg was literally close to
dying and I can't imagine the migraines, brain damage and problems he will have for the rest of his life.

This is a seasoned MMA fighter getting hit for years, not a newbie.

Look at Anderson Silva's leg snap, and all the serious damage that has occurred in the cage and MMA.

Cyborg's fractured skull proves, you can literally die in the cage.

Now imagine how UFC's reputation will look if CM dies in the cage, gets crippled for life or suffers some severe life-threatening injury live. The outcry from the media... why'd they put someone w no experience into danger ??? It'd be like the NFL putting Vin Diesel as Runningback for a game.

This could have serious reprocussions for the UFC brand and they should drop CM or let him fight in the Amateurs first otherwise it could go really bad for them in the press.

He'll be fine. Wrestling is the best base for MMA and he was the wrestling world champion.

Here's the difference: MVP has been training his whole life. He's got a great record in point kickboxing and is undefeated in 11 pro MMA fights, having finished 10 of them. Mickey Gall is not that dangerous at 2-0 - and even if he were that dangerous, it was a freak accident, same as Anderson's broken leg. It doesn't happen often. If you really believe CM Punk is going to get an injury like Cyborg did, I'd be more concerned about your mental health than that of an aging WWE actor.

Theres always a risk of injury in this sport and theres always fights where a guy gest completly destroyed. Its never slowed the sport down infact fans seem to enjoy those type of fights.

CM Punk may get destroyed, sure. But he also has a lot of wrestling experience and has been training enough that he's not really any different than anyone else coming into the UFC, he simply has a bigger name to start with.

nah... i kinda wanna see his face get caved in what a fucking joke that this clown gets to call himself a UFC fighter

Cyborg can/will recover from his injury TS. He may, or may not have lasting effects. You're playing "chicken little" in a sport that comes with risk.

The affect would be the same regardless of who received serious injuries or death. CM Punk is not special in that regard. Even though he has never done professional MMA before does not mean he is coming into the cage completely unarmed and unprepared.

He may be severely brain damaged, even retarded from it actually.

Those skull pieces can tear your brain. Doubt he will ever compete again.

I hear bones eventually get brittle due to years of steroid abuse .... is that true ?

Big diff between training and an Amateur, real fight.

They're not gonna break his bones in the gym, too much liability. Even scrimmages are nothing like a real opponent in a cage trying to destroy you.

He's a lot diff... he's "sports entertainment" where everyone else has an Amateur record of several fights at least.

All UFC fighters have been in fights before, even Brock.

This is literally the first time a guy is going in with 0 and it's dangerous and irresponsible. He can prolly sue them if he gets paralyzed.

The media will say why did the UFC put a guy in with no experience...

You’re missing his point.
