Why the hate for Denny's?

I never understood why so many people hate this fine establishment. The food is better than most diners, especially their breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, Denny's breakfast menu is by far the best of any chain restaurant. You get the best bang for your buck, so to speak. Do people hate this place because of the same asinine reasons they also hate Subway?

Anyway, I'll leave it at that and continue to devour my delicious "moon over my hammy".

I've never been to Denny's. There's one in town I kinda wanna try but people have told me they get diarrhea from their food so idkkk, sounds kinda risky.

Denny's is my favorite restaurant. I'll tell anyone that asks. I go traveling to a different city each year and I eat at Denny's at least once but usually more often. I've never gone drunk though since I don't want food to sober me up.

It's just considered trashy for some reason. I've only eaten there once. It was fine.

Good variety, decent price, usually open late - it does have its perks. I find almost everything they do to just be a bit boring though. I've never left Denny's and said "I really enjoyed that" - more just "That wasn't bad."

I suspect it just has a bad stigma from being A) a sort of "common food" type restaurant, not fancy or pretentious or astoundingly high quality, and B) it's open all night so a good portion of its business comes from availability after the bars close, not quality.

i think it matters where you're from as well. when i lived in the chicago burbs, dennys was considered trash and the food really wasnt tasty, the service was upright horrible. in las vegas tho ive come to appreciate dennys, their food is good, their establishments are usually very clean, and great service. their buffalo chicken sammich is always a good choice.

I took my wife there on the weekend. The sirloin is pretty tasty, better than at some of the high end places around here. Lots of good stuff on the menu for good prices. It probably has a different rep in the States where it's been around a lot longer, but in my younger years it was kind of a treat since they were only across the border or in Niagara Falls.

I pass by a Dennys and 2 ihops to go to a local place that serves an amazing breakfast. Dennys and IHOP are both nasty.

It's news to me as well. I mean Perkins is better but Denny's is a fine establishment and the Tremendous 12 should be added to the HOF.
