I'm a libertarian. I believe in people having the option to make choices to do what they want with their own bodies and I'm opposed to others trying to dictate what's acceptable and what isn't. It's like all the sudden people are on some moral crusade against PEDs as if its a huge problem in this world. I personally would rather be around a bunch of individuals taking testosterone than a bunch of people who are drinking, smoking or doing rec drugs. Athletes will always have their own tricks to gain an edge over their opponent and elevated testosterone levels alone will not make a fighter better, but it does promote faster muscle recovery. TRT allows aging fighters to stay physically on par with the younger guys and I think its great to see fighters still successful almost 20 years into it. People want to see athletes who look like they're in top physical condition as well as perform at levels that are nearly impossible, but then want to ostrasize and berate an athlete if he's taking a medication to help him recover from the training it takes to get to that level. That being said, I just dont believe it should be much of a controversy nor do I think that this would even be an issue had the whole clown show of congressional hearings against PEDs in baseball in the mid 2000s had not taken place and brought the topic to the forefront of media attention.

You don't think any of them are using it simply to get better at MMA?

Get out of your bubble.

I just want a level playing field. Legalizing peds means that the fighter wit the most resources and the best doctors has an unfair advantage. Skill should be all that matters.

Because its not fair? Lets make it fair and force them all to use PEDs.

Even playing field.

and

Safety of fighters. (PEDs help the body recover and become stronger, but no help for the brain ie their target).

It's like all the sudden people who have no actual knowledge on the topic think they know exactly how it works and all the sudden you just become a superhuman badass from taking test. I've been working out a long time and have seen many guys run through many cycles, very few of which were impressive in either physique or strength... or the ability to maintain anything they were able to gain during it. Just my opinion , but I think theres a lot bigger issues to worry about than someone else taking TRT. Let the athletes do their thing.

You sound like the typical just bleed fan.

Wow. TS hits on multiple trollworthy topics (TRT/PEDs, libertarianism/politics, recreational drug use, broscience) all in one tight incendiary paragraph. And it's a first post on a new account. It's almost as if you've been to this forum before and you know how to get a shitstorm happening... Welcome to Sherdog newcomer!

-1 point to TS for no mention of 'brown pride'

Listen, I'm not trolling here or looking to start some moral battle. Most of the people here are stating the reason they want testing done is for a level playing field. But the fact is the playing field isn't naturally even. Some people are blessed with god given genetics and high hormone levels whike others were not. If you think football players and 90% of other pros arent doing all kinds of shit to aid in their workouts and recovery, I think you're just being naive.

Been an MMA fan since 2005 and I've been lurking on this forum for the last couple months. This is an honest discussion and im really trying to see what the feeling is on the topic.

Main problem is, if you juice in baseball, you might break some records... You juice in a ring/cage you might break someone's orbital socket.

As a figther and guy who is straight edge I think PEDs are crap and people who use them are looking for a short cut. How can people think putting a drug in you body so you do not need to work as hard or to help you recover is fair? The fuck out of here. This should not even be a discussion.
