Hell of a fight.
One of the best rounds I have ever seen.

Aljo pulled out again and UFC wants interim title fight. Merab deserves this fight. Please give it to him. Striker vs grappler classic match up.

Dilly vs Cory was for the shot

Dilly can't make it

Time for Sandhagen

Font #2 option

Merab's win was great. He shouldn't be leap frogging for a title shot yet though. He definitely should get a fight that gets him consideration for one if he wins though

Georgia vs Russia, the 2008 war story line. Merab trying to avenge his homeland. Lets go warlords style.

We'll see what they do (how long is Aljo out for? They might just wait)
But Merab is definitely deserving of a shot with 7 straight wins.
Font can be slotted in to but he's fighting Aldo iirc

The real answer is that Aljo and Merab are longtime primary training partners and super close friends. Idk how no one brought this up. They are nowhere near that discussion at this time.

Merab needs some time to let his brain rest

Hell no. You don't deserve a title shot coming off a loss
While most of the time id agre, u have to consider 1) That was probably the closest fight and hardest to judge in a while (i had it for Cory as well as many other people including Big John etc) 2) Losing a razor thin decision in a title eliminator agaisnt the former champ is more impresive than beating an over the edge Moraes who was 1-3 in his last 4 (could be 0-4 since that aldo decision was BS)

Id rather watch a) Dillashaw b) Cory c) Font d) Aldo rematch before even talking about Merab in a title fight.

Sandhagen arguably won that fight, and anyway Dillashaw is injured.

If they're going to make an interim it should probably be Yan vs. either Font or Sandhagen (hopefully Font).

Putting Merab in an interim title fight is problematic because not only would that be a big jump in the rankings, but also because he's friends with Aljo. That would put them in a very awkward position if Merab won.

Daniel Cormier literally went down in weight to avoid challenging his friend Cain for the HW belt.
