why not ban Hendo?

You aren't going to end someone's career by an extra punch. Holding on to a leg lock is a career killer. It's like holding a choke on a guy that is already out. There's a line you don't cross.

Punching an already concussed individual as hard as you can could easily end a career. Head injuries are VERY serious

there is a reason almost everyone disagrees with you. You dismiss every valid argument against you and your arguments themselves are very ignorant

Also, since you have almost as many comments on this thread as everyone else put together, clearly you werent really wanting to hear others' opinions unless they happened to agree with you. This was simply a way for your to have your own bitchfest

Well to be fair they kind of did kick him out, but then brought him back after he KO'd Fedor.

Same with Rampage.

They both continually punched their opponents when they were out cold.

They should all be cut.

I know it's not the same thing because the ref hadn't stepped in for the Hendo fight but still, that's scummy and low of him. He even said afterwards that he knew Bisping was out.

Even as fucked up as that was, it doesn't compare to potentially putting a guy out of work for like 18 months. Holding on to a heel hook is worse than punching an unconscious guy imo.

Okay....I'm the stupid one for pointing out a clear, overlooked incident of the worst sportsmanship displayed in combat sports

Poor sportsmanship, sure. Hendo didn't drop that nasty elbow drop while the ref pulling hin off if Bisping. That stocky troll cranked it after the ref jumped in to stop it. He got what he deserved.

The ref has nothing to do with the Hendo incident. Hendo KNEW Bisping was KO'd, and decided to punch anyways, knowing the fight was over. This was horrible sportsmanship

How does the ref not have anything to do with it? The ref is the one who stops the fight and he hadn't stopped the fight, so technically Hendo was free to keep fighting.

I am not disagreeing with you that it was a cheapshot and bad sportsmanship, but you need to recognise that Hendo technically didn't break any rules.

agreed, hendo is notorious for landing power shots on unconscious opponents, yet he never gets any criticism for it. the hypocrisy is astounding

If you think it is just fine to keep punching, sorry launching with your fist, after your opponent has a head injury, than you have some issues bro

welcome to any internet forum!!

1 you either didnt watch that season of TUF or 2 you're just too sensitive to watch fights, jesus christ it was 1 fucking extra punch, 2 in total. palhares' was a lot worse, it couldv'e ended pierce's career, also stop being such a little bitch.

edit: also a bunch of people already said what i was trying to so nvm, and again, stop being such a baby.

I think that given the DOZENS of times that fighters have been KO'd and recovered within a second only to continue fighting (and occasionally win), if you see your opponent go out and have but a fraction of a second to make a decision whether to hit again or risk losing what would be a guaranteed win... yes, you go for another hit.

What Hendo did was guarantee a win. What Rampage did to Wanderlei, on the other hand, was simply for vengeance after the fight was already guaranteed, and despite what some say, he was not "praised" for it. It has been talked about over and over and virtually nobody agrees with his actions, though we may understand it (there is a difference).

What Palhares did, in itself, might not be any worse than Hendo's punch (questionable given that there is still more risk of a career threatening injury with Palhares' actions. Heel hooks are VERY nasty and 1 extra punch before the ref steps in has never been the cause of a major injury that Im aware). However, this is not even about a single incident. This is about the fact that Palhares has a HISTORY of this. This was not by any means his worst offense, and if you disagree with the specifics of WHEN Dana drew the line, that is fine, but a line needs to be drawn with a repeat offender like Palhares.

Now that Im done with the facts, go ahead with your dribble. Again... there is a reason almost everyone has disagreed with you. You dismiss logical arguments
welcome to any internet forum!!

So being a hardheaded, illogical person who makes a thread to vent rather than have a real discussion is ok because its on all internet forums? Yes, trolls, assholes, etc exist on any forum. Dont be one of them.

While Hendo's H-bomb on Bisping was totally unnecessary and bad sportsmanship, Palhares has a history of doing this in both MMA and BJJ.

The fight is not over until the ref says so.....ask Ricardo Arona (vs Rampage). So Dan was perfectly in his rights to keep punching. Mercer-Morrison, anyone?

In case you all forgot.

This man remained employed in the UFC for another 5 years, received his KOTN honors and bonus money for this fight, and No one. Said. A thing.
