That fight was a good fight. It was a technical, fun fight. Here's what I imagine the reasons are for people complaining.

1) The rest of the main card sucked, and it put everyone in a bad mood.
2) Don't care for Flyweights.
3) The "fans" left and there was no excitement in the building.
4) DJ dominated the fight.
5) There wasn't a finish.
6) DJ doesn't trash talk.
7) There wasn't any suspense coming into the fight.

WHY does DJ get hated on for these reasons? Most, if not all of these reasons have nothing to with him! Vancouver "fans" are clowns, who leaves before or during the middle of a title fight???

Point is, if you enjoy watching technical fights, then you liked this fight. Just because you were influenced by any of the reasons above, or don't like DJ in general, doesn't mean you shouldn't at least appreciate him for what he brings to the UFC.

End rant.

Heavies threads after an event is a known cesspool.

all he does is dance around. he lands a lot but doesnt seem to put power in any of them

I can respect the skills and technical mastery of his sport, but a lot (note I don't say all) of the smaller weight fights do absolutely nothing for me. Not hating thats just my opinion.

Everything sucks. The fighters suck. Dana sucks. Rogan and Buffer suck. Goldberg is just the worst. UFC will fail, MMA is dying.

I respect him, but he's just not a main event people are going to be excited about.

Unless you are Joe Rogan, or that one screaming lunatic lady.

hes like jazz. most people cant appreciate it, but musicians get it.

I very much enjoy technical fights--Machida is one of my favorite fighters in the UFC. I don't dislike DJ personally, I'm just not very fond of that particular division. I generally don't much care for most HW fights either. There are, of course, exceptions from time to time.

I love watching him fight. Great fighter, fun to watch. Some people are hung up on size etc. He won't get the credit he deserves from many fans, or even media, but there are people who really appreciate what he does. Even the most knowledgeable people have their biases. Some don't like size, or say others like myself, don't appreciate big, sloppy heavyweights who can't go more than a round without half dying. I'm more apt to be in favor of somebody like Mighty Mouse, Dominick Cruz, Frankie Edgar, etc than somebody who is bigger, stronger, but not as skilled or athletic.

A. 125'ers should fight under Thunderdome rules - 2 men enter, 1 man leaves.
B. The things that will make them awesome to use in the new UFC video game ("endless gas tank" & relatively no power) can make them boring to watch to some.

Heads up- You've been marked as a paid UFC shill; this "rant" isn't helping your case.

LOL, paid shill. Your a fool for thinking that.

This is well put. He's awesome to watch fight. Dude is so quick and agile, you don't get that stuff in higher weight classes.

MM/Dodson fight was absolutely ridiculous, the rematch will probably be even better

Because I can squash him with my beer belly.

...Say's most shertards.

I'm reminded of the "pillow fists" arguments against Cain.
