In MMA, I would imagine anyone over 35 years old would be eligable to fight in it.

Weight classes can be removed and each fight contested at an agreed upon catchweight. In each fight, a fighter gains points based on aggression, sub attempts (advantage points), KOs, and overall performance and victory.

These points would be cumulative and carry over from fight to fight. Whoever has the highest number of points each quarter holds the Legends/Masters belt.

I just see a ton of talent over 35 that unfortunately get matched up with young guys in their early 20s. Look at what happened to Maia over the weekend.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Always thought it was a cool idea but if I had to wager on it happening I think Bellator would create it, not UFC.

And it should start at 40 instead of 30.. 30 is too young I think.

I'd say over 40 and TRT can be allowed.

why would you have it. also, USADA

30 is when Masters divisions begin in BJJ, but I agree 35 or 40 is better for MMA because of the smaller overall pool of people fighting at that level.

Sure. I think everyone would love it. Something like vans poolpartys legends/masters.

I do however think it will do better in an org without drugtesting.

Why not?

Maia, Vitor, Shogun, Hendo, Wanderlie, Sonnen, Evans, there are a TON of big names and very experienced and talented fighters out there that are as good as they ever were.... just not against 20 year olds.

Yes, of course let's cause more brain damage to these older men who have lost some reflexes.

This already exists it's just called Bellator

Isn't that Bellator's shtick? No need to have two.

Sure. I'd love to see Severn and Shamrock square dance one last time.
