US Navy vet here. Qualified on Beretta M-92, Sig 226, Mossberg 500, and Colt AR-15 for security / during deployment. I'm a 2A supporter having grown up with guns for sport and hunting. How others view you during the protest situation is important. Dressing up like military and concealing your face doesn't make for good optics when viewed by most of your fellow citizens as most of your fellow citizens don't do that. It isn't normal. The goal is to normalize your position and make others comfortable with your stance and with you as a person. Wear comfy pants and a shirt with a collar. If you're organizing the event put out what the goal is and ask that those attending dress like normal people.
