The general consensus seems to be Conor McGregor accepts a short notice replacement if Khabib Nurmagomedov pulls out of their UFC 229 fight, but I spoke about this on a podcast I host this week and gave a take why he might not.

I wonder what everyone else thinks? I'm not unaware of his past, he's always been a guy who fights anybody anytime, but with the stakes involved in this fight and what happened with Nate Diaz it makes me think.

He probably does, but are we a little naive to think he will for sure do it? His track record says he would, but after ehat happened with Diaz and a sheer inportance of this Im not so sure. For the record, ImI not on the side of the camp that says Woodley is awful for saying he won't accept a fight with a such different type of fighter like Usman if Till falls out.

Conor is so scared. He knows he's rusty as hell and his cardio is terrible.

Doubt it, he signed to fight Khabib and there isn't a matchup worse for him.

If Khabib does pull you can be damn sure the UFC will strip him and make the new fight for the belt.

Conor is set financially and at a point in his career where the power struggle between him and the brass is very real. I don’t think he will go out of his way to help the UFC in any way that doesn’t benefit him greatly.

Conor will never fight a fighter in training camp on short notice.....Meaning he won't fight Kevin Lee/Tony Ferguson, who are already training for other fights.

He only fights guys with no training like Manlet Mendes and Cabo Diaz..........who were drinking tequila and fucking bitches before the call, and have like 10 days to prepare.

That's the only way he fights on short notice, the man has no balls.

Next time, instead of admitting its your podcast, pretend like you came across some genius podcast that people need to listen to. That's best practice, in my opinion.

It probably is, you're right man, but naaaw. Fuck that. I'm not hiding it. I actualltly posted a clip from a podcast before on The UG that wasn't mine, and didn't say it was mine obviously, and people actually jumped all over me saying I was promoting! Can't win I guess. But I'd genuinely like to hear people's take on this.

Conor will fight anybody and it will be for the undisputed belt with or without Khabib.

If Khabib pulls out he'll be stripped of Conor's belt.

Conor fought on short notice because his scouts found 2 people (Nate & Chad) who weren't in shape. Chad is known as someone who doesn't put in the time outside of training camp and Nate was in Cabo drinking and smoking. Conor's no dummie

I'm not going to watch your video but I think Conor would fight Diaz as a replacement if they asked because he's never shied away from short notice fights. People on Sherdog act like he's scared of people but he never even hesitated to take short notice fights on multiple occasions. Diaz he's familiar with and his loss was due to arrogance which he corrected in the second fight and Porier is a hill billy

gotta love the kids saying "gee, conor's cardio is shit" ok, then how did he go all 5 rounds with nate and WIN?? if his cardio is so bad...and conor has never gassed below 170lbs, not ever...only time conor has ever gassed was at 170lbs...rusty? he just fought mayweather a year ago...and dominic proved that ring rust is a myth.

Conor really receives no credit around here. He gets shit on for accepting short notice fights when others in his position have tanked entire cards and get credit for being “smart.”
