Why McGregor Beats the Snot Out of Aldo (Feel free to Bump In the Future)

When it comes to mma I can't think of anyone from the British Isles beating a high profile Brazilian

Not that it matters just trying to think

As a fan of McGregor, he has a tough uphill battle against Aldo.

McGregor can win but I see it as a 5 round war that he isn't ready for (Conors never gone 5 rounds). Aldo will likely be pummeling his legs with leg kicks which will slow down his movement, decrease his speed, and probably win Aldo the fight.

TJ has already proven that a high mobility striker can defeat that style of fighting.

Unlike Siver, Aldo will have conors respect. Be prepared to see a lot of angles and stance switching. Conor will get the W.

Barao's striking isn't anywhere near as tight as Aldo's, Aldo sets his strikes up much better and has much better timing. Barao is good but he leaves a lot more holes than Aldo.

Aldo leg kick >>> McGregor wide stance.

Aldo is also the faster fighter and hits harder. McG is prolly more accurate and has a longer reach. Aldo should be a -300.

It baffles me how people think Aldo has that big a chance of beating McGregor ...

that's because of the glue you've been sniffing all those years, it messes with that whole "doing brain stuff"-thing. you're baffled pretty often lately, aren't you?

i'm so excited for this fight to happen already - aldo via vicious spinning wheel kick ko, second round

1. On the first point, thats not correct because Jose fought Florian who's taller then McGregor by 2 inches and has the same 74 inch reach

I don't know how people can just claim Conor takes this. I'd much prefer him fight Aldo now instead of getting knocked off by Frankie or Cub but the conviction Conor fans have, astounds me - especially now after Conor knocked off.... Dennis Siver???????

I actually think it will look easy. I disagree that it will look like Shogun v Bones, but it will echo the ease of victory.

Prior to that fight close to 70% of Sherdog thought Jones would be leg kicked into oblivion. If you can actually separate talent from opponent however, you could see that Bones was way too much.

This fight is a little different. Aldo has brutal leg kicks however Conor is a south paw. The leg kicks Aldo specialises in aren't specifically effective for McGregor's stance. This fight will stay on the feet. Aldo is going to get bullied.

I'm confident it will be a second round TKO [My only question mark is Aldo's toughness]. He might be tough enough to prolong his beat down.

So Aldo's power right low kick to the INSIDE of Conor's lead leg isn't effective? Come again?

Ts is a retard who hasn't trained anything. He will use an alt after the fight.

I don't know about his head movement being so fast, where is it? Siver hardly threw any punches, mostly threw kicks and Conor just wanted to walk through them, I guess it's okay since he can do it to Siver. Against Porier he was comptent to talking shit and just block the punches. He's getting hit more the thing is the guys he's fighting don't exploit that and Aldo most definetly will.

3:44 left of round 1. Siver throws a left jab, Conor moves his head to right and counters

3:16 left of round 1 v Holloway

1:23 left of round 1 v holloway

1:01 left of round 1 v Holloway is the best example, simply because you can see it easier. The other examples, his head movement is so fast its hard to see.

I can't do pics or gifs for the life of me so he's a link to the slip

Seems like a good assessment to me. TS, you betting? I'm thinking of placing a bet on the GOAT. Seems like the smart thing to do.

Conor is about as long and tall as Kenny Florian.

Their speed is pretty comparable, but Aldo is clearly the fastest guy Conor has fought, in terms of footwork and striking speed. I'd actually say Aldo has the superior kicking/punching speed, come to think of it.

Conor got countered cleanly by Poirier and Siver, Aldo will capitalize on the openings Conor leaves and get the TKO by the second round.

Machida and Aldo fan fucking lol.

That is all.

One leg kick and Mcgregor's stance and gameplan will completely change. Connor is a fool if he thinks that facing an angry Aldo is a good thing........yes, angry Aldo is now a thing.

i got mcgregor. it will be a good fight; style vs. style but aldo is champ for a reason. with what conor has already right now, it's a good base but he will need to fine tune and continue to improve.

Conor has checked a lot of inside leg kicks. Broke holloway's foot by doing that and finished a fight earlier in his career doing the same thing. Outside leg kicks with the lead leg would be more effective.

McGregor is NOT faster than Aldo, his gas tank is a question mark, as is his chin, and he's never faced anyone on Aldo's level before whereas Aldo has faced and beaten the cream of the crop, like Edgar, KZ, Mendes twice, and Lamas. Conor's best win is Poirier who, while solid, is not on the level of any of those guys.

Jose Aldo is unlike anyone Conor has faced no doubt but the same can be said for Conor being a truly gifted opponent and unlike anything Jose has ever faced. The experience is obviously on the side of the champ but the discrepancy in skill is not as big as some would want us to believe.
I also believe both have the heart to keep going after taking considerable damage, it may be a matter of breaking down the other guy with a prolonged attack/accumulating damage. This is why I think Conor has a great shot at winning, imo he is more likely to finish Aldo with punches than Aldo finishing him with kicks. Conor also puts on a great pace in his fights, always pushes forward and will make it very tough to beat him by decision.
My prediction is a TKO win for the challenger, maybe 3rd or 4th rd. No disrespect to Aldo as I am sure he could finish anyone at FW as well, including McGregor.
