She clearly is a very good athlete. She comes from a tremendous athletic and combat sports background. She has a tremendous work ethic, in fact she appears to be a gym rat. Comes from a great camp. What's missing?

Looked like a lack of confidence in her last fight. Would not engage..

I don't think her losing to Shevchenko was all the surprising. We're talking about someone who has outstruck Joanna multiple times.

She could have beaten Tate but her grappling wasn't there. Everything she did leading to the finish was due to lack of experience and inferior technique. Holm can certainly take Tate but she should attempt to finish more. Tate is very hittable but Holm seems more worried about not being in a bad position more than committing to her strikes.

Rousey was a perfect fight for her. Rushed in with her chin wide open. Holm isn't the kind of striker you can just run toward.

do you KNOW about Holly Holm? she's not an engager. She is about the most dedicated outfighter in MMA ever. Her boxing record reads like a female Paulie Malignaggi, i feel like you saw the Ronda fight and, like i imagine a lot of people did, had delusions of grandeur that she was this devastating killer counter striker. Well, she isn't. She's a dull, dull outfighter with herky jerky hands to set up kicks, and after the ronda fight, nobody was ever going to let Holm get happy with her feet again.

The Rousey fight made her, and it also probably buried her.

She's too careful, take few chances in attacks, a point striker based extensively on counterpunching. Very insecure on the ground.

She's too nice. She doesn't have the mean "mess you up" attitude like Jones choking Lyoto and dropping him on his face, making Shogun tap to strikes, dumping Rampage at the bell.

She's not a technical boxer.

maybe Jackson isnt that great of a coach..... ever thought of that?

She's not very skilled, relies on cardio, pace, output etc for her success. Her fundamentals are shit for the most part as is most Winkeljon fighters. Rely too much on unorthodox shit like spinning shit instead of fundamentals like Valentina.

I mean outside of Cub who was trainef by Joel Diaz no Winkeljon fighters can even consistently throw good jabs. Condit, Holm, Diego, Bones, Yair, Dodson, Kennedy, Russians etc. Cowboy couldn't until his training with that new MT guy. Hell Murr developed a jab and was hooking off it and showing decent boxing technique and fundamentals for the 1st time in his career AFTER leaving that camp

Basic principles, punching defense which almost all Wink fighters struggle with in that boxing range, technical.footwork instead of bouncing or doing fancy shit etc.

It'll catch up to u and Holly doesn't have anywhere near the grappling of the other Wink fighters to take advantage elsewhere. Holly was a former boxer yet she can't even throw punches properly, her technique is shit, doesn't have her legs right, weight doesn't transfer and it results in her punching power being anaemic. It's strange someone who crossed over from boxing has by far had their most success with their kicks

She's mentally weak and frail at the moment for some reason.. Very hesitant and standoffish as well..

tbf, Winklejohn trained her the whole time, it'd make sense for her to cross over and be more centered on kicks as that seems to be more Winklejohn's style

So she won world titles as a boxer by basically sucking at it

nah, her style and the competition allowed her to drown people in output. she wasn't fighting goliaths or anything, she was fighting in women's boxing in her backyard, her cardio and her output allowed her to pull ahead, not her technical ability.

The like 50 champs he's had says otherwise.. Ya know..
"had" is the key word in that sentence

lets see how many he gets in the USADA era, that should be interesting
